We spent 10 days in Moab in late September, early October 2025. Plan was to mountain bike one day, and then go off roading the next.
Got our campsite set up on Monday morning in Sand Flats. In the afternoon went down to the sand dunes SW of Moab because I had never driven on dunes (or the beach for that matter). Three dirt bikers road through while I was airing down. After that had the place to ourselves.
Didn't get stuck or roll it, so I consider it a sucess.
Wednesday morning was Fins and Things. We had run parts of it last fall, the south side and the west half of the north side, but this time we were on our own and did all of it.
Had lunch back at our camp site and then went on Hell's Revenge for the first time. Went out to Hell's Gate and then back.
Friday was Top of the World.
The view is absolutely incredible. That is as close to the edge as my wife was willing to let me go, and since I wanted to be on speaking terms with my spotter on the way back, I was okay with that.
One of the few Gladiators that I saw out on the trails was on the way down from Top of the World.
It was really windy both Friday and Saturday (30 mph gusts) so Saturday became an off roading day. Plan was to do 7 Mile Rim. Got to the staging area right off 191 and there were three lines of Ineos Grenadiers airing down. The 3rd through the 5th was the "Grenadier Oktoberfest Gathering" in Moab. By the time I had aired down, the line doing 7 Mile Rim had pulled out, caught up to them pretty quick. The morning started out like this:
Was able to get past them when they stopped at an overlook. Did pick up a souvenir Grenadier mud flap after watching the driver lose traction, slide backwards until up against a rock. Mud flap caught in tire tread and tore completely off, driver just kept on going.
My wife was dreading "I Lean" but it was only 20 or 21 degrees roll and she wasn't that stressed. There was a big line up of Grenadiers at Wipeout Hill, so skipped that.
Monday was an easy day, Onion Creek in the morning and then we went up Geyser Pass to see some fall colors. Will edit post to add images when I get a chance.
