I need a dash camera

I have your Dash camera and I'm satisfied with the quality of the playback and recording.. I've been meaning to hard wire it but for now I'm using the cig lighter for power. Though I noticed that the plug provided has a connection for USB C cable. Every time I connect the C cable to a device it doesn't work. Not a big deal since I'm going to eventually hardwire it but thought I let you know.

It's likely the power is insufficient. Check the specifications please—you may need an A to C cable that doesn't support data transfer.

Yes the cable is a C cable that does charging/data transfer. Are you saying It only works with charge only cable?

If you want to power it, you should choose charge only cable. If you want to transfer data, you can use a data tranfer cable.
