Mercedes Extended Warranty

I wanted to find out if anyone has purchased an extended warranty for a Mercedes and what kind of a deal were you able to find. I have couple of quotes but both are $6K+. I wasn't really expecting that much.

I bought a 'National Warranty Corp' directly through my local Mercedes dealer. I wanted to ensure they could not give the old "we don't cover that aftermarket policy". 60-month, 100,000 mile 'Premium Plus' (with 'wear and tear' included), zero deductible was $3470. That was 3 years ago on a CLS.
No claims so far. I have found IF I have an extended warranty it seems I never have claims

But for some reason, I could not get an extended warranty on the red Mercedes

I can't remember the exact amount but it was like 2/3rds of what BMW wanted.
