For well over a year now I have been dealing with an issue involving my forward, collision warning, and my automatic brake control. Intermittently maybe one time out of five, whenever I drive under a viaduct or bridge my Forward collision, warning lights go off in my automatic brake control activates taking me to a full stop. About a year ago I disabled the automatic brake control after I almost got ran over by a semi, as we were on the expressway and my jeep automatic brake control stopped me until I was doing zero. With no way to override it in the middle of the process.
It has been an annoyance to see the warning lights on the dash every so often so after seeing several Safelite commercials, I called them to have my safety systems recalibrated. They will not recalibrate your safety systems unless they replace your windshield. I explained to them that my windshield was OEM that it had never been replaced. I just needed the recalibration. They still said they do would not perform that service. I took it into my jeep dealer after waiting 10 days for an appointment, upon arrival, they told me that. without an error code they have no idea where to begin. They said that I could leave it and they could look into it for $150 an hour diagnostic fee. I explained I was not going to pay $150 an hour to somebody who just looked at me and said they have no idea where to begin. They said they could open up a ticket with Chrysler, but would need the vehicle in case Chrysler needed them to look at something. But they were unsure of how long that would take. I have looked all over the Internet and have not found much on the subject. Anybody have any help?
