After some research I was only able to find a Jeep Wrangler thread from 2011 discussing the removal process:

To remove: Pull from the top of the mirror. And then the mirror will pivot from the bottom and then just pull out.”

Not sure if this still applies.
still applies. I switched my stock mirrors for the Euro version six months ago and it was that easy. It will take firm, even pressure to remount. tbh, I cannot beli it did come standard.
