That is my childhood right there. Can remember about being 7+ and kicked out the house during the Summer and Spring break and told not to come back until dinnertime.

Can also remember my dad sending me to the 7-11 with a hand written note and buying his carton of cigarettes.

I see today they use the term "Free Range Kids" for the same thing but then arresting the parents for neglect and/or getting child services involved. Damn shame.
