So, I reached out to Racing Optics about 3 weeks ago because I was curious about their windshield protection film. They responded back almost immediately with a few questions about my rig and whatnot. They sent me a install kit along with the film to install on my gladiator. 1st kit was way too small (which I realized after install) took some pics sent them over they immediately sent another kit out. Pulled the old one off, cleaned up the windshield and started again. Let me tell you, when they say to do it in a garage or shop…do that. There was no wind, windshield was super clean and I STILL managed to get junk behind it. However, install was a breeze. If you live in a humid climate expect it to take about 3 days for everything to evaporate and clear up. I’ve had it on now for about a week and other than my screw ups it’s like there’s nothing there. Doesn’t interfere with the wipers, no weird glare at night. Even polarized lenses don’t pick anything up. They say each layer is good for about 6 months. At $229 that works out to about $75 bi-annually. Which, for me and dealing with sand etching of my windshield down here in FL is a great piece of mind. Figured I would share my experience so if anyone was on the fence they can at least read my real-world experience.
