Truck cap and getting air back there for dogs?

A friend uses the gasket I mentioned to seal the windows and put a thermometer in the back to test it and it stayed cool. I opted for the insulation on the cap too and I think that makes a big difference. Heat was a major reason I picked the color Jeep I have too. I also recommend getting the interior light. It helps a lot. I would also recommend getting a sliding drawer that attaches to the ceiling of the cap. It holds a ton and is hidden. Because our beds are short it won’t hold an assembled shotgun but easily handles one broken down. It also easily handles fly rod tubes.

Works great. The side windows and back window all lift up for when you are parked. I have a Ryobi fan with an extra battery that I use. The side windows also slide open for when you are driving. You can also open the rear sliding window on the Jeep and the front sliding window on the bed cap to get AC to the back. You can buy an inflatable gasket that you put between the back glass of the truck and the bed cap so you don’t lose airflow.

I need to research this inflatable gasket.

made something similar for the our chickens using a walmart ice chest, some pvc and a 9" fan

Shouldnt be hard to find a 12v fan (or use the bed outlet) Theres plenty of room for two frozen gallons of water in there

I did as well recently with a foam cooler but it was subpar. Ive been beating around the idea of getting the one I linked

Has anyone had any luck with one of those inflatable boots that go between the back window and the cap? Does it keep enough cabin air back there? Trying to think of a fan would blow enough cabin air.... maybe redirect an air vent to the bed? Anyone tackle this?

Measure the openings and just get a bike inter tube and a small hand pump. Put just enough air in it to where you can fit it between the glass and cap without it falling, get it adjusted and then give it a few more pumps. Then when you don’t need it, just deflate and store it out of the way.
