Shopping for some new winter shoes for the JT, anyone running these tires? Looking at the 35x12.50r17 E. I appreciate any feedback back on them you have. Also can’t find anywhere what they weigh. Thanks

it's been years since i lived in snow country but i thought having skinny tires was better then big fat 12.5 tires. But like i said its been years since i have had to worry.

Unless they are big fat, ice and snow specific tires (like the bridgstone BLIZZAK) with sips to increase contact patch on the snow and ice?

I am sure someone will come along and tell the group fat tires are better for xyz.

Rharr, thanks for the reply, agree on pizza cutters vs fatties in the snow, lived in ID most of my life. I’m also looking into a 255/85r17 series as well, funny you mentioned Blizzaks, going to look today at a used set Blizzak studded for the real nasty treks this winter. These TBC mud claws caught my eye yesterday at a local Bigo shop.

I would recommend other big-brand tires, even though this one is good still you can find some better options by investing a little more in it. I find this article more resourceful, I bought a General Grabber X3, still after 40K miles it is still delivering proper performance and left with 5/32 tread depth.

I have the Eldorado Mud Claw Extreme in 37/12.5-17. Wonder if they are the same brand. What I found out is that they are made by Cooper Tires. I got mine from Walmart.com for $289.00 each. Good off road traction. They hum on the highway. First time off road. I torn the outside lugs up on every tire. Don't have that many miles on them yet. Haven't used them in the snow yet either.
