I am finally getting around to replacing my steel winch line with synthetic. Anyone tried this product?

It would be easier to take this route instead of cutting/trimming the synthetic rope to fit the winch through the screw hole. Easier is not always better. I will use a hawse fairlead and remove the tensioner. Thoughts?

No used that product, but Bubba robe is one of the original kinetic rope companies. They make quality stuff.

That looks like it'll work. I used a rock climbing "dogbone" on my first synthetic winchline, long long time ago. Same idea, same type of synthetic fiber, probably $5 at most new (or free if you're a rock climber and have a dirty/nicked one lying around like I did).

I wouldn't recommend ever spooling out any more than 10-11 synthetic wraps remaining on the drum, and this doesn't change that - but if you set it up right, the dogbone will prevent brainfarts where you overspool. Getting the line tensioned right again without removing the grille or bumper is such a pain
