Should be good for future trade in values too.
Hopefully this will steady the decline in resale values that have been witnessed since spring.

My '22 Mojave that I traded in April fetched 49K (paid 55k fourteen months earlier). Now just six months later, my sales consultant (and good friend) state that now it would be worth 40K trade in.

Glad I did it when I did.

The midsize segment is pretty ridiculous still and this is probably the new normal. If you're looking to buy a truck for truck/bed/cargo/comfort purposes, a full size V8 isn't far off from what you're paying for a loaded Gladiator. If you're looking to buy an off-road truck, then that is where the JT comes into play with the capabilities and why it is at the price it is.
Agreed, but there is a certain aspect of Jeeps that I never got with any other car or truck. I've recently owned a Maverick and a Canyon and not to far back an F 150...my interest/ pleasure in those vehicles died quick, they just became appliances. I have a 3 year old JL I still stop and look back at it in a parking lot.

Do you sincerely think that a Gladiator (I’m assuming Rubicon) is too much money at $53k? I get it if you are saying all vehicles are overpriced. If you’re talking about a JTR specifically, though, $53k is just about the cheapest way to get a Jeep that wears the “Rubicon” stickers.

And a Jeep that wears those stickers is far more capable than nearly any other truck in the segment as far as 4WD capability.

If thats the case, what brand new from a dealership vehicle isn’t too much for you?
Its Mojave, but mostly just whining that all vehicles cost so much.

Wow, that's a great discount you got there. Probably the most off I've read of.
Out of curiosity I checked the trade in value on it right now and its only 54K, lol. If one doesn't get a good discount on these they are going to take a bath on it.

I'm curious what the Spring market will be like.

Go check out local sales groups. Private sellers all over are trying to sell their middle trim level 2-3 year old Gladiators with cheap lifts and big tires for $45k.

They want high $50s for their used Rubicons that are out of warranty. The value on the entire used market for Gladiators is tumbling quickly, and a lot of people are going to be unhappy when this happens. (We won't mention the fact that they thought they were paying a worthwhile price when they bought the damn thing).

I'm certainly curious as to what a used '23 JTR is going to fetch on a trade in 24 months from now. I think we are all going to be a little disappointed if and when we try to get into something new and we don't see Wrangler levels of Equity.

Ah yes, the "I know what I got" group, hahaha.

I too wonder where my overland HA will land as it is no longer offered as well, no idea if that makes it desirable or not to some. I'm not one to jump to the next best thing year after year, I truly enjoy what I have.

People need to get out of the mindset of thinking they can sell it for what they bought it for or more - that crazy time has come and gone.

I completely agree. I find that the Gladiator is a value for those of us who want to be able to off-road. Or take the top and doors off. And happen to need a truck bed occasionally.

To me, this provides a unique distinction from the other members of the mid-size class. The other mid-size trucks... I don't really "get" it. I don't know why people don't just move up to the F-150 if they are planning on towing. The power in the entire mid-size segment isn't there, and just because a midsize truck "can" tow 7,000lbs, I don't see how the full-size segment can be ignored when they are the far better tool for the job and realistically only a few bucks more.

2008 UAW ran the Big 3 into bankruptcy.........I think the Big 3 want to return the favor.
Talking to a fellow co-worker at Ford and that's what he's hoping for. Said the unions are ruining things.

I've resigned myself to keeping my 2020 Rubicon Gladiator. Every option from factory and high end upgrades with 20k miles and 80k left on the bumper to bumper and I know I'd struggle to get $48k for it at this point. Crazy watching the value evaporate.

Full size don't fit on the trails around me. I don't tow things, and can use a duramax if I ever need to. All the mid size trucks do the type of off roading 95% of people get into. If anything, I think the full size is the worst segment, big enough to be a pain in the ass, without the payload and power to do real truck stuff like a 1 ton.

I will say that at least for the moment, Ford Mavericks are holding their value, I got what I paid for mine. I had it for 4 months and there was nothing wrong/bad with it, I just didn't like driving it, but the craze about them is still holding on. I figured it would pass by now.

I guess the big boss for UAW and his Eat the Rich t shirt has never played poker.......because like a rookie he showed his cards to early
if they really have a 6 month reserve and that's not a bluff, i don't think he showed his cards too early at all. Showing your cards too early would be telling the automakers you have a 6 week reserve.

I tow a boat that is 6k lbs on the trailer. I don't want to use a mid size for that and I don't want to drive a diesel every day.
