New 7 inch UConnect 4 Radio With Sirius arrived. My 23 JT Sport has a sat antenna install and is communicating with Siruis Guardian.

Do you think I will need another antenna, Sirius?

Do you think I can do a swap without dealer intervention??

Existing radio did not have Sirius, so no numbers to cancel or un-program from that, I wonder??

I did my 2020 but the dealer had to do something to the used radio I bought ( unprogram the previous owners code and unlock it??

Since this one is new and not swapping a previous Sirius, I am hoping I can do the hot swp and just add this new device to my Sirius account.

The problem is your current head unit has a cellular connection and a SiriusXM Guardian subscription. You will need the dealer to work with the SiriusXM Guardian people to get that transferred to the new head unit.

I would have tried to get the dealer to replace the head unit under warranty. If the truck has a satellite antenna, it should have also come with SiriusXM Music and a free trial subscription.

SiriusXM Guardian and SiriusXM Music are two separate subscription services that are not directly related. Guardian works over a AT&T cellular connection, and Music is receive only over the satellite antenna.

Current unit works great. Did not come with Sirius XM? I will check with dealer on the install. Temp Guardian account expired and I have not interest in it. I may try to hot swp and see if I can just activate new radio. I will check with dealer first. They all seem a little slow on quotes for electrical add ons. This radio, Aux Switch and Remote Start. Hard to get install quotes. Makes me wonder if 2020 electricals' issues made them a little gun shy. We'll see. Thanks. I also have email in to AllMoparParts who i bought it from. They checked Vin and I showed them PIC of Antenna already in place.

Mopar sells a remote start kit that should work with your truck. If it came with Guardian capability, it should already have Remote Start.

AUX Switches are a labor intensive installation If not ordered from the factory. That one you can do and then enable with Jscan, AlfaOBD, Tazer, or a visit to the dealer.

I was thinking there would be XM on current radio?? But then Watching the build sheets and details as built I started to suspect not. Sport, with S package add on and maxTow.

On most current head units, SiriusXM is a standard radio option just like AM or FM. I would be surprised if it was not there, especially if the truck came with the satellite antenna on it. That's why I mentioned the dealer and warranty replacement for a defective head unit.

You can do the head unit swap, and it will possibly work. You may need the dealer to program the VIN into it so it is accepted by the truck computers. If it doesn't have Guardian capability, then there will be an extra antenna that is not connected. If it does have Guardian capability, then it will need the VIN programmed into it and the dealer will need to get the Guardian Support people to update your account with the IMEI of the new head unit.
