Sorry to hear you're going through this, and with the current strike you'll need patience for a replacement. This sounds like an unfortunate rare event, I'm on my second Jeep with the Pentastar Engine, I just traded in my 2011 Grand Cherokee Overland with 272,000 original miles for a Gladiator Mojave. My experience with the 2011 engine, which was a first edition, had a few early head problems, but after the issues were worked out in the first year, that engine was flawless. Before I purchased the Mojave, I spoke with the Service Tech and a couple of the mechanics at the dealership (12 years servicing the GC Overland), they had nothing but great things to say about this current version of the Pentastar and waived me off of purchasing the Eco Diesel.

Hang in there, my experience with the Dealership and Jeep have been nothing but positive over the years.
Thanks for that..well the strike is over. No Eta on engine after 10 days trying to be patient. Dealer has been good but customer care is dragging their feet still trying to get loaner authorization. I'd love the truck!

This is EXTREMELY uncommon with the pentastar. Typically, the top end of the engine fails well before the bottom end has a chance to.

But also usually not until you are nearly double your current mileage.

Well, good news got my gladiator back. The new long block is running good. It took 41 days but with the strike, I am not complaining....It was hard to be patient. Customer care paid for the rental too.

That's not far from the month our JLU was in for transmission replacement. It was one day shy of a month, which actually impressed me, and the service manager said because it had gotten all the way up to Jeep as a STAR case, and he was working with the regional technical rep, he wasn't concerned about getting their loaner back, as in his words "Jeep will pay us for the loaner so keep it as long as you need it".
Before it got that high into Jeep, it was a different story.

Hope all keeps going well on your situation, no leaks, no issues pop up involving the swap.
It's sure nice to be able to say - two Jeeps in the garage and one car with a Jeep engine, and not a leak anywhere (and they all run great)
