I hate to resurrect an old post, but I have a leak now in the exact same spot. The original leak turned out to be a cam position sensor o ring or gasket?
They put dye in, but I really hate to have them work on it.

Did they look at it at all yet? They just found mine today. I read a lot of horror stories about taking something apart to fix it only to have it worse after. Not sure what to do? I have 1000kms left of the bumper to bumper warranty, and they are going to do a full inspection Wednesday before it runs out. But I still have the 100,000 warranty left.

Ok. Well on that note, you can see my block heater in the picture if you need reference.

Appear to be leaking from the bed plate. It's a two piece block. It's major works to resealed. Technically a deep teardown, trans, crankshaft etc

I’ve also read that the oil dipstick is right above that spot. So here’s hoping. I don’t have anywhere warm to look at it right now but I take it in Wednesday. I’ll mention it.

Mine appears to be from above the bed plate. I also understand that wind as I drive can spread it around.
Here’s hoping it isn’t that. I’ll live with the leak before I let them tackle that!!! 😳

Lol this is exactly what i am doing as i don't want them to tears the whole motor apart. Mine is minor as i had caught it early. I cleaned up the area really well then applied two layers of Honda bond rtv along the seam, where the bed plate meet the block and forward toward timing cover. Been over a year and hasn't leak again.

This is for the 3.0 diesel specifically.

I took it back in and they said I haven’t been driving it enough to see where it’s coming from. That and the tech that put the dye in didn’t clean the area where the oil was on the side of the block, so they had to clean it all and wait longer. 🤦‍♂️
They did say they think possibly the oil dipstick tube.
We’ll see.

Alright, bring on the gasser guys with the hate….

Anyone else develop an oil leak on their diesel yet? Appears to be coming from the passenger side “front” of the motor. I haven’t taken the belt cover off yet…. But so far guessing it’s somewhere up there.

Just looking to get a general idea from those that HAVE had a leak to see if there is a common area…

For general information- leak has started to show sometime between 10-12k miles ??‍♂

Definitely leaking from an area around the pully…. (Pully that is directly below the alternator.)

Dealer appointment is Friday. Would put money on they are going to call it an upper oil pan gasket…. It’s not. ?? good times ahead.

Photo from below doesn’t show much…

I currently have the exact same leak at the ground strap at the block! Where was your leak coming from and what was the repair??

I brought my 2023 Gladiator in for an oil change and fuel filter replacement back in May. They discovered the Timing Cover Gasket leak and it took them 6 months to get all of the necessary parts needed to complete the warranty work. It's currently been at the dealership since last week. They actually gave me a loaner after asking for one for a couple of weeks - they have me driving a 2025 Grand Cherokee with the window sticker still on it. Fingers crossed the techs know what they're doing 😱
