Does anyone have the correct p/n for the front license plate bracket for the stock plastic bumper? I can’t believe my Gladiator didn’t come with one as a front plate is the law in CA.

Talk to your dealer. One should be provided. I have the factory bracket for my steel bumper that I will not be using. Talk about a fugly afterthought... I mean FUGLY. It doesn’t cover the holes that get exposed by removing the winch delete plate. I went aftermarket and just received my Maximus bracket. I fabbed my own goofy bracket from a bit of angle iron I had for my JK front plate.

I hope the solution is better for your bumper. I’ll give you mine if it would work.

Thank you for your offer. I’m hoping my dealer will provide me with one. I’ve searched the Mopar store with no luck.

When I talked to my parts department they told me that there is no bracket for the plastic bumper. There are two dimples where you are apparently just supposed to use self-tapping screws to hold the plate on. That’s what I did and it looks fine, but I’ll be adding a plate frame or something to help finish it out.

Nope. I’ve seen photos here on this forum of the bracket. It’s a plastic piece that is molded to the bumper perfectly. That’s what those holes are for. Can anyone here post a photo?

I stumbled across this pic which looks like what you are after. My steel bumper bracket is very similar but the bumper profile is a bit different. This bracket fits deeper over the top of the bumper. The steel bumper bracket has a very shallow profile cut and pretty much just sticks out front of the bumper.

My dealer called today to say "Gladiators are sold with them in CA and we forgot yours. We are mailing it to you."

68293738AA is the correct part number for the front license plate bracket kit and should fit all the JTs and JLs with the plastic bumper. The optional steel bumper is the one with the plastic panel that the license plates bolt directly to with no bracket needed. EDIT: See post below for correction.

My steel bumper, an LE, did come with a bracket. It is extremely ugly and a pure after thought in my opinion. So ugly, I went with a Maximus bracket instead. The plastic panel is there to cover the winch fairlead holes. While you might put screws and bolts in that plastic piece, I don’t think it’s intended to work that way. It just snaps in, so you might lose a front plate with the extra weight and wind.

everyone just needs to be aware that there are different brackets since the plastic and steel bumpers have different profiles.

Edit: here is a profile shot for the steel bumper license plat bracket. You can see the shallow profile Cut into the ends when compared to the one earlier in the thread needed for the plastic bumper.

And just to tie things together for future reference, this bracket came with this bumper.

Ok, I found it now. I had the VIN to the Rubi in the showroom and wouldn't list both illustrations for the steel bumper even with the filter off. The part number for the steel bumper license bracket is 68295610AA. Unfortunately you still end up with holes in the Closeout Panel in the center either way you go.
