 An Elky!!! I’ve not so secretly wanted a '72 Sprint (though I’d settle for an Elky). :involve: Ended up with my 944 instead.

Not shown - my antique hit and miss engines in the garage addition............ I have restored several of them and used to show them on a regular basis.

It isn’t my toy, just one that I flew...but this is my passion... So much so, that I retired from the military so that I can get all my ratings and then start teaching others to fly in general aviation.

That's the nicest condition Eagle I've ever seen!
Thanks. They seemed to think so at the 2019 AMO show this year, too. Senior gold, best of show for 1970-1988 AMC cars.
Equipped with a 94 ZJ 4.0

The only work I did not do myself was the spraying of the red. (well, I did have a wheel shop CNC machine the Eagle wheels to freshen them up and finish the cast aluminum centers I made to replace the plastic originals)
I did everything else on the car, engine, transmission, full suspension and steering rebuild, dozens of NOS parts used, including tach, speedometer, gauges, tail lights, and much more. I used an in-tank Jeep electric fuel pump and modified my tank sending unit to hold the pump and for the wring necessary. I used the ZH PCM and PDC and created a circuit to convert the AMC cruise switch signals to operate the Jeep PCM's built-in cruise function.
Like my wife told the sales guy when we were ordering the Gladiator - we have two Jeeps already, and two vehicles with Jeep engines - my 04 WJ and my Eagle. (she has her 2018 Grand Cherokee and I have my 04 Special Edition)
It was fun getting all of the Jeep stuff packed in this engine bay - I had to be creative and move some stuff around to get an air box in there, from a MOPAR minivan.

They are still cool - fun vehicles and you sure don't see many of 'em around here.

I often see one on my commute to work in the mornings; it's usually covered in mud. Nice to see one get the royal restore treatment!

My C&C out racing this year...seems I'm just down the road from you. Usually stop in Cleveland on our way to the islands every year.

My location is a bit misleading. Cleveland ledge is a part of Buzzards Bay. I live in Mass.

Boat looks good. How’s the sailing over there? Iv heard stories about pop up storms and weird wave conditions.

Ah, thanks for the correction!!

Iv heard stories about pop up storms and weird wave conditions.
It's one of the craziest places I've ever sailed. With an average depth of only 60' storms create waves QUICKLY and the period between the waves is very short. Very challenging. I've been in some pretty wild rides. Racing during water spouts...all kinds of fun stuff. When the wind gets over 30 it get's real sporty out.

We had a J80 just win this year our 5 day around the lake race. 3 of the days were really blowing.

An example (this was about 15 minutes before the race start):

Yeehaw!! We raced trimaran boats and got some trophies, but we never saw anything like that!
My favorite is a little Hobie 17. You can get some serious speed on those little things. Hanging off the side in the diaper and all.

Man... really need to get back out there.
