I’m leaning towards purchasing one of these tire carriers for the bed
Kinda like a pre runner style. I’ll be mounting a full size spare (35/12.50/17)
On it

Any one on the forums have one of these tire carriers? Any concerns?

I searched and only found mention of it twice

I had to search this one, is this what you saw?
Rough Country 10544 Jeep Gladiator Bed Mounted Tire Carrier 2020 | CJ Pony Parts

It looks decent, it holds up to a 40" tire which is the standard size capacity of most options. There are a couple options I've seen, one with an angled mount like that RC, and one that keeps the wheel below the window (N-FAB). I suppose it's all personal preference.

Angled mount= Rugged Ridge:

Flat mount= N-FAB:
N-Fab Universal Bed Mounted Rapid Strap - Tire Carrier | N-FAB

Personally I just lay the tire flat on the bed and strap it down using an N-FAB Rapid Strap.

"But, why move your tire? 35"s will fit underneath!"
-Keeps it from getting covered in mud on the trails, which keeps you from getting muddy changing your tire out in the middle of no where.

Edit to add DV8 standing carrier:

I should also note that I only carry my spare when I am going wheeling, otherwise my bed is empty. If I get a flat tire on the highway I would rather just call roadside assistance.

Wouldn't it be better to just keep it under the bed in the stock location when not wheeling and flip it to the bed for when you do?

I suppose that's an idea, personally I removed the winch underneath so that isn't possible for me anymore. Also I'm lazy. :CWL:
