Rough Country Nerf Steps

So I decided to roll the dice on a set of RC nerf steps. These look identical to NFAB nerfs that I looked at and are $50 less. They arrived this morning and install took me 30-40 minutes tops by myself. I’m really digging these things. 3 vertical and 4 horizontal bolts attach the 5 different brackets on each side to the Gladiator. They are solid as hell and hide the pinch weld perfectly. Only couple of issues I noticed. 1-the center seems to appear to bow in toward the B pillar more but I think that is because of the body shape (optical illusion). 2- neither end of the main tube is solid. They are wide open. Initially I wasn’t real excited about that thinking shit will get in there and cause quicker rotting. Then I thought with both ends open it shouldn’t hold water, allow air in to dry better and I can simply hose whatever gets in there out. I will see how they hold up. Check out the pictures and I like the nice little JT cut into the middle bracket.

Curious what you think of the open tube design now that you have had some snow in Indiana?? I am looking at the N-fab vs RC nerf bars and the N-fab is the same price right now with the rebate they have going....just can't decide open or closed. Also did you notice the part numbers are almost identical....like they come from the same factory. Wonder if RC and N-fab are related companies.

I would guess they are made in the same factory by the same people. I really have not noticed any issue with the open end tubes. Didn’t know the N-fabs were closed. Hadn’t seen that mentioned. Only issue I have is the steps could be a few inches farther back towards the rear. When my wife uses them to get it she says it feels like she has to sit on the very front of the seat. Hope this helps.
