I saw a few posts with guys asking about compatable bed racks with tonneau covers. I recently purchased a BAK Revolver 4xs tonneau cover, as well as a bed rack from Front Runner.

Liam from Front Runner confirmed measurements and worked through my order with me. I've included a parts list.

This past weekend I completed a 500 mile trip (all highway) loaded with luggage, and it performed perfectly. I'm loving how it turned out, and had quite a few people comment on it. Let me know if you have any questions on the install.

Interesting... No interference when rolling up the tonneau?

The tonneau cover opens 3/4 of the way. For my usage that's plenty.

I guess I should have clarified how I'm using this setup. 2-3 weekends each month I'm carting my wife and son to the beach or going on camping trips. I needed an area to keep luggage dry as well as a place to store camping/ beach items.

The rack handles our cooler, awning, chairs etc... Everything else is stored under the tonneau cover.

I wonder if it would support a RTT and 2 adults? Maybe add another set of mounting brackets for some extra support. How do you like the Bak? That is on my short list. Thanks

I don't initially see an issue adding a RTT. I'm looking to add one in the near future myself. I did reach out to BAK to bounce questions off their technical team, but they were unhelpful..

Front Runner racks have a 660 lb rating. They sell mounting brackets for RTTs on their website. The "legs" of the rack bear on the truck bed rails, so I do not see a weight bearing issue. My one question pertains to how the tonneau will perform offroad with a rack and RTT. My gut feeling is that is should be ok since the BAK tonneau cover is bolted into the bed frame.

I love the BAK 4xs by the way... fairly easy install and keeps 98% of the rain out in a downpour.

Thanks for the help, think you just made my mind up. The rack and RTT would not stay on for daily use, just when needed. Thanks Again ??

@Marclex Thanks for the info, just a heads up, the part numbers you have listed are no longer valid.
I have a request for info in to Front Runner and I'll update part numbers if I get them.

Nice clean look and it appears it would be quick and easy to remove the rack if needed.

Thanks for the update! Front Runner hadn't done one with BAK yet, so the technical guys I spoke with did some guessing. Worked out perfectly.

Easy to remove the rack, however it is a little cumbersome due to its size. I'm looking into a pulley system to make the process easier.

I can’t find the individual parts either, but it looks like Front Runner put them into bundles.
  • There is a KRRT001T with 2x LASS028 legs + 1x RRSTJ07 platform for $1145.
  • There is also a KRRT023T with 3x LASS033 legs + 1x RRSTJ07 platform for $1335. The legs look to be several inches taller and might give full clearance to fully roll up the tonneau.

Looks good!

As for the RTT, there's a few of us who have a similar set up but just use the load bars instead of the tray.

I have the LASS028 legs x2 and a set of load bars (I believe 58"?)

I mount my RTT for trips here and there, and wheel with it on and have had no issues thus far.

The Bak X4s rolls right under the rear bar and stops at the front bar (about 3/4 as mentioned prior) plenty of access for storage. Front runner makes taller legs that would probably clear the cover all the way up, but I like the lower profile of the tent

Bad timing on my part seeing this thread, I bought a gladiator with the same tonneau cover and was trying to find racks that would work with it. I emailed BAK directly and this is the response I received:

"Hey Scott! Unfortunately, we don't have any truck rack that will fit with the X4s cover. There is no rack in the market that will fit with this bed cover yet"

Because of this email and not seeing any threads showing a system that would definitely work, I listed the BAK X4s onthis site and ordered a diamondback tonneau cover. Oh well, I guess it's only money.

You will find that no manufacturer wants to confirm compatibility with another manufacturers product. Best bet is to ask them tons of technical questions, dimensions, clearance space required, blah blah blah.
