Love the JT, awesome truck and enjoying it daily to this day. That being said the worst part is the sheer amount of low end companies a Jeep owner has to deal with on a daily if you want to make any upgrades at all. . In the beginning it was the problems dealerships gave on getting the TSB done, which thankfully resolved with a great dealership about 40 minutes away. I have dealers 10 minutes away and cannot use them as they offer an abrasive experience. I ordered shocks from Shock Warehouse 3 or 4 weeks ago, no response, no phone nothing. I returned non functioning headlights to Headlight Revolution and they are holding back refund for 2 weeks. I have over a grand out now on smaller items with no parts and less communication. Who has time to deal with companies like that? So now every time I want to make an upgrade, I have to do research to see if the company is legit or even operating normally.
It ain't just Jeep. It's everything - Chevy, Ford, you name it. Same thing everywhere. I have owned other makes of trucks and cars and accessories is a sort of market where there's fast profit to be made by some.
I ran into this sort of thing long before I bought my JT. Chevy accessories - went to a truck accessories store not far away and yes, they had some quality stuff there, but they also had accessories for stake pockets that rusted in less than a year and looked like crap a couple of years later and barely functioned. Lights, running boards, tail gate accessories, shocks, you name it - there's great stuff out there but it's also a just one of those things you have to really watch out for.

Supply chain issues aren’t helping. I’m starting to believe that stuff is fake news somewheRe in the chain. Big bucks to be made when you have limited inventory.
You need to read insider newsletters and business news. AND - talk to legit honest truck drivers who will tell you - there's a ton of stuff out there to move and few drivers doing it. It's everywhere, home products, garden products, food, building supplies, you name it. A good friend left one of the big trucking companies around here because of the stress and pressure - too few doing the work, hurry hurry hurry, need it yesterday. I have talked with other truck drivers who echo the same. Another told me that there's so many idiots thinking like uninformed do that they need to be drinking bottled water to stay safe, and only certain foods are safe, etc. and he and his co-workers are spending so much time trucking things like bottled water in the last year to year and a half other stuff sits waiting to be moved. So tell people - your drinking water isn't going to kill you and no, you don't need to become a vegan or go on some fancy diet and beef is still fine and not destroying the world.

The lack of product is legit - so many industries changed over to deal with the huge demand for certain home products because everyone was staying home, no one was DRIVING, no commuting, huge demands for TVs and appliances and home repair products - so companies switched over and truck drivers were going nuts............ it's real, not some far L or R conspiracy theory. Enough of those floating around out there to last a whole generation.

Coming from vintage Lincoln aftermarket and Porsche aftermarket, there is no comparison. The Jeep aftermarket wins in the low end scam category by a mile, In my experience so far. Sure there are some good companies that offer decent cs. The shocks and lighting was only this weeks winners, by the way shocks still not resolved. What a company shock wharehouse is with their net zero response garbage and their thousands of complaints. Its laughable at this point. I will probably just walk away from the 200 and order elsewhere. Sure those same companies sell to Chevy and Ford. But buying lots of parts for vintage Lincolns was a different experience all together.

That's right - look at the markets you are trying to compare to - and the dollars involved. Try to compare to current generation trucks and SUVs - not vintage and not Porsche. Comparing aftermarket Porsche to Jeep - not even close. Much much smaller market for one than the other, and there's a lot of Jeeps out there where people just want to make them look cool but on a budget. Do you see that in Porsche?
IMO, unfair comparison.
I was comparing more apples to apples.
Do you see "cheap" parts at all for Mercedes, BMW, Porsche?
You sure do for things more comparable to Jeeps.
