Ok... I have put off doing the whole bigger tires thing but I just keep thinking I could at least sell my stockers and offset some of the cost. Im just going to keep the stock wheels my mojave came with so we can just keep that in mind as we discuss the classic argument 35 vs 37's. I also want to preface this as I am the sort of person that just tries to keep things balanced and realistic in life. I dont buy the absolute best and I dont buy the worst, I try and gauge what I am trying to accomplish with cost/benefit. In other words the classic "you'll just go 37's later" isnt going to necessarily be true. I had 35's on my K5 Blazer and was completely happy. My offroad trailer has 35's on it also, so it would be a cool match.

I am leaning 35's because I dont get to go wheelin much and from what I have read 4.10s and 35's are generally acceptable. The wheelin' frequency could change in the future. Everyone has been just so busy its hard to find time. Im also trying to get a local group to actually do more jeep stuff instead of potlucks and parking in parking lots. Local trails are mostly dirt road ATV sorta trails. I avoid mud and prefer exploration/overlanding adventures vs obstacles. Im more interested in getting from point a to b without completely blowing ruel range, lets face it, gas isnt getting any cheaper.

However, YOLO and if I am going to do 37's I should probably go for it now. They look great honestly.
But... that re-gear. man, shits expensive and there just aren't a ton of options locally (in fact I think zero) for me. It would likely have to be a dealership install, which means even more $$$.

Lets get to the meat and potatoes.
Lets say I went 4.88 and 37's, then later said yeah ill just go back to 35's. Will the 4.88's be overkill or more like 37's and 5.13?
What ring and pinion brands are good to go and which should I avoid?
Ok, switching gears (ha! get it!?)
Tires. I really love, my Falken A/T's and Id love to just step them up a size. But I always try and have a backup plan, Geolander X A/T look promising and pretty similar, good tires? Something else I should consider?

Is there a lift for Mojave's that allow you to keep the stock stuff? Like 2" or so?
Sell Mojave suspension purchase nice clayton something or other? (probably wouldnt do that but everything has a price lol)

Sorry, bit of a post there. Looking forward to hearing just honest responses. I know you guys cant say "just do ____." because everything is different for everyone.

35s and 4.88s are like 37s and 5.13s, basically just 1 step over stock 4.10s and will give you a little more low end torque. I highly doubt you will regret 4.88s even if you go back to 35s.

The truck wears many hats.
Daily stuff like getting kids to school or picking them up. (Less than 2 minutes away). Occasionally run to Lowes, haul a lawn mower, pick up/drop off furniture. I do a lot of buying and selling locally.
I'm also wanting to do more adventure stuff. Get off the pavement, get the kids out of the house and enjoy the outdoors more. Short version 1/3 daily driver, 1/3 utility vehicle and 1/3 adventure. :)
I feel like 35s are the most reasonable option.

Mine is a DD commute is around 30 miles each way. 35s seem to work pretty well, handling, braking and trailering/hauling are close to as good stock.

I feel like I can still live with 4.10s also. I'm a very frugal person and I'm not looking to race folks at the stoplights

I have 4.10s also, they work pretty well for my uses with 35s. You can run 35x11.5x17s on your stock wheels also.

I'm on 37's and 4.10's, and while i do eventually plan on going to 5.13's for extra torque, even with a curb weight of 5600 pounds including me and all my stuff i'm still 0-60 in under 9 seconds which is only about 1 second slower. Yeah its not quick, but its fast enough honestly.

My concern is loss of 8th and transmission wear and tear. For me it wont be much of an adventure parked at the gas station instead of the trail/campground etc. :D

Locally i dropped from 14 to 12.8 mpg and highway I went from 18 at 80 to 17 at 80. 8th gear is just a second overdrive and depending on how fast you drive highway you probably dont see it much stock tires or bigger. If you are in a sport with small and light p-metric its a bigger hit but from a rubi with 33's that weigh 90 pounds a corner, going to 97 pounds (what i did) made almost no difference.

Edit: Thats fuel mileage including the extra weight and the clayton 2.5 lift plus 37's and new rims. The gasser mileage just kind of sucks and adding more stuff doesnt really make much of an actual difference.

I thought I saw a few folks with 12.5's on the stockers.
You can and many people do but there is no 12.5 or 315 width tire rated by the manufacturer to be mounted on a 7.5” wide rim.
