Now I just need front stubby bumper, morimoto amber fogs, and stock JT LED headlights. I’ll also add the Oracle rear tail lights when they come out.

The stock halogens look so bad with the LED AAL lights!

If you retain the inner fender liner , you will not cut much of it at all. A small triangular piece on inner and outer part of liner only. Maybe 2”s long. Just enough to allow it to pass the AAL bracket and tuck above the AAL DRL.

You will need to take bolts out of liner and peal it front to back. On the very back of fender liner by the rocker steps if you have them. there are two plastic fender clips to remove on the bottom of liner. This will help you reach up and disconnect the stock harness and plug new one in. Pulling stock harness out is just grabbing by each side of plastic clip holding harness in. Rack it back and forth and they will pop out saving the stock harness. The new AAL harness I attached with zip tires.

I think you can see by the pictures you need to cut the air dam between the fender and the bumper. This will leave you with a bolt on and off cover over your fog lights on the stock bumper. I never removed the covers, just trimmed the dam above and below the bumper to take it off.

I used a razor knife and those sheers from Home Depot electrical isle.(they are awesome). Some use dremel tool and it can be more precise, but was just too slow for me and some of the angles too tight to use it. I’m loosing stick bumper soon, so not worried about it. IMOP it looks good.

I forgot, on inside of fender liner you will have to cut plastic around where the stock light attaches and the AAL bracket will attach. Also need to cut a slit to clear AAL bracket on inner liner.

You will see, just take your time and trim a little, check it, and trim more if needed.

Again the DRL function no longer works even with the patch AAL gives you. I’m going to talk to them about that.

I just turn my marker lights on and fogs off for DRL function for now. I’ll have the TaZer mini soon. I’ll need it for a bunch of changes later anyw

Did mine today, terrible pain in the butt to install and I’m not that thrilled with the fitment. The bracket and light itself look great and function perfectly, maybe they fit better on the Rubicon fenders?

Reviving this old thread. I just got a set of Quake Led’s smoked fender chop kit on Black Friday. I installed them on my max tow and it turned out pretty good imo. I didn’t take apart the fenders and I kept the inner liner intact. What do you guys think?

Really like this look and didn't realize they came in smoke which makes me want these even more. You said you kept the fender intact, so you just did one cut to remove that bottom lip underneath the factory lights?

Just 1 cut to remove the excess plastic around the stock lights. I kept the bottom lip and did a lot of trimming of the inner fender liner. I also used some of the plastic I trimmed off the fender to create a filler piece which I epoxied back on. Otherwise you would be left with a gap between the light and fender

Thanks for the close-up photo - really nice job on the install! That extra piece to cap the side gives it a nice finished look. I'm a bit nervous to do mine as this will be the first mod where I'm really altering the factory stuff. I'll probably order it and sit on it for a few months until I build up the courage and the weather warms up. ?
