You and I have passed by one another in the wind. Your license plate stood out. Mine looks similar to yours and is named Waterboy.

I see you wanted 35s maybe. There is a guy in Winsoton-Salem selling his Nittos and wheels for trade plus 600. In the Marketplace.

While I had the dash out, added a new phone mount.
Awesome build updates. Do you have a link for the phone mount? It's exactly what I've been looking for.
Thanks.

Based on your experience, do you feel like the footwell speakers are “needed” to improve the sound?
I have the exact same stock speakers as you with the 7 inch and have just considered swapping out the 3.5s in the dash and sound bar and calling it a day

thoughts?

Very good question. I originally was going to do just that and not replace out the front pods as it was to be such a chore. However, once I began the job I decided to swap them, and I did them first. So unfortunately I never heard it with all changed except for the front pods (to get a clear understanding of how much the pods added.) This being said, it did add much to the front sound stage, and when I added the tweeters the front sounded really good. When I added the sound bar speakers the did not seem to get quite as much of a change as the front tweeters and pods. So very glad I replaced them all out.

This being said, I do not think the front pods "need" to be replaced to get improved sound. You will get much better sound by replacing the others out. However, I am glad I replaced mine, and would recommend you seriously consider it. You can even do this last, after you have done the others/easier installs if you feel like you still need it.

Still have not added my sub yet, but once that goes in it might change my overall thoughts on the front pods.

appreciate the detailed answer, I may start with the 4x 3.5” and go from there.

stock is just so quiet and lackluster, only thing I wish I could change about the jeep the way I bought it would be the sound system and an 8.4” screen
