Got bored in the garage and thought id come up with a way to mount my seatbelt cutter/glass breaker in the jeep. I noticed that there is velcro on the seatbelt buckle and thought that might be a good place. Stuck on some velcro on my Gerber seatbelt cutter and there ya have it. Does anyone else have ideas on where to mount a seatbelt cutter?

Mine is just in my first aid kit under the rear bench seat. I don't think I will ever use it in my lifetime so no need to keep it within reach haha.

I'll probably never need mine either, but keeping it out of reach pretty much defeats the purpose lol. To each their own.

Well not really, I have it to help other people. You don't need to bust a window out from the inside of a JT because the roof will disintegrate in a real rollover crash lol. And if you aren't in a crazy crash you very likely have at least one functional door. The seatbelt part I'm not sure about. I know they lock during a collision but I've never seen one malfuntion and stay locked afterwards.

I think this means I'm obligated to provide my stats so... US Army Master Driving Instuctor and certified EMT. I have also crashed a car a couple times. Hahaha I still think it's a cool spot for one on your belt clip there, otherwise realistically I might put it in that tiny top section of the center console. Right now it only has my garage clicker.

The problem I see is if you go off the road into a river. People in Iowa have died because there are a lot of drop-offs and people go off the road, out of sight and into water, sometimes not found until hours or days (or weeks) later.
Water pressure will prevent some people from being able to open doors.

We shouldn't derail this thread but we are still talking about JTs. I personally have crank windows but you could also remove the roof panels or just pop the drain plug to equalize I'm guessing? Either way very scary situation. I used to have a water bottle sized dive tank thats supposed to last 10 minutes. I really need to get a new one.

OP you could also mount your tools on one of those ceiling molle racks, pretty nice additional storage spot.

Army vet too! Have two of these issued from deployments so might as well put them to good use! You should know as well as I that roll overs are no joke!
