We finally did it....

After so many failed attempts by Jeep - in their customer service and service department - we got rid of our Jeep Gladiator Overland Edition. We actually loved the vehicle - however the service department ruined our experience for us. Gainesville Jeep has the absolute worst customer service. It starts with the General Manager Marvin, to the front desk receptionist, all the way to the service people who think we are there for their convenience and anything for us is an inconvenience.

Enough about that - the Jeep seemed like a vehicle we wanted to love - but couldn't. We had no confidence in the vehicle, the service department or Jeeps commitment to their customers (as it states on their webpage).

@JeepCares - you never really did anything for us. While our jeep was having it's engine replaced we asked you for a rental car - you did nothing for us - you didn't even attempt to expedite getting one from the dealership. Our Jeep was in service for 30 days - my wife had to write a letter to get us/her a rental. We heard every excuse in the book. Everyone with Jeep has made our purchase and ownership a complete waste of money and time for us. Literally everyone with jeep.

And just to conclude this rant - we went with a 2022 Toyota 4Runner TRD Off Road Premium 4X4 and couldn't be happier.

I know a lot of people enjoy their jeeps and really love what service they get - Gainesville Jeep ruined it for us. Not the brand - the service and the dealership.

I made this promise to Shawn in the Service department - we would leave and never come back. We are your advertisement, and you failed us.

For everyone one of you on this forum that helped me along the way - THANK YOU and Happy Easter - to the ones that want to flame my post - this is what free speech looks like.

That will be it for this forum.

Idk why people get butthurt over posts like this. Sorry that dealership sucked and your Jeep experience went sour.

I hope you and your family enjoy that 4Runner. They’re awesome vehicles. Happy Easter to you too!

Unfortunately companies are using the current global situation to all but erase their customer service.
The companies that learn this is the time to step it up are the ones who will come out on top on the back end.

It's just a vehicle, glad you got out of it and hope you enjoy your new ride. Don't have to leave the Board just because you left the JT.

Enjoy and be safe ?

Sorry for your bad experience. Haven't had anything major but been quite happy with the service at our local dealership. Could definitely see how bad service and a multitude of issues with the Jeep could sour the deal.
My mother had a bad service experience at the local Mercedes dealership 27 years ago. Still bad mouths them today. She's probably bought 8 new Mercedes since that issue, from another dealership 50 miles away.
Unfortunately, I think unless you are a small company, bad reviews don't have much affect on the bigger companies.

Yup. I'll never drive another Nissan or Infinity thanks to a crooked dealer. Get how you feel.

Like any other brand the dealer service quality will vary quite a bit from place to place. Most big chains just don’t care, I had way better luck with smaller places where they don’t get that much traffic and genuinely want the customer to keep coming back.

Sorry to hear about your bad experience. I had a 2017 Tacoma TRD Pro and it was one of the most reliable vehicles I ever had. Although, on one on the comparison threads people said they were under-powered, which I didn't understand til I drove my new Gladiator with the 2" lift and 37" tires and it still had more pep on the freeway than the old Tacoma. But, that's not a real bash from me on the Tacoma. My son had a lotta fun riding on some crap bumpy, muddy roads in it. Can't wait to go do it in the new Gladiator with him.

We have a mediocre Jeep dealer in Albuquerque, but I haven't received my Gladiator yet, so we'll see how they are during the deal and afterward. I'm sorry about your experience. I have a TRDPro Tacoma which I'm selling to get the Gladiator. Three recalls did it for me. The Toyota dealer here is the same company, so if their Jeep dealer is as good as the Toyota dealer I'll survive. Happy Trails.

Fully understand. The current state of affairs across the auto industry isn't helping either . However I believe it's becoming a crutch . So much to talk /complain about , but no need . I think you made a solid choice , spoken from my own experience with Toyota . Good luck , we'll see you on the other boards soon. .

Didn't you have another dealership you could have worked with? I've got 3 I'd check out if the one down the road failed me.

Sorry that you had issues with your dealer. As many have posted, your in good company! I too am not fond of my local dealer. When I took my first ride in a Gladiator to test drive it, they forgot to put gas in it. Yes, ran out of gas one half mile from the dealership once I got on the freeway. Took them forever to come rescue me as I discovered how Notso Bright I really was. It started getting warm and I couldn’t put the windows down as I couldn’t find the damn controls in the door. Felt like a loser opening the owners manual. Felt even more stupid when I learned where the window control buttons were located. I was Notso happy when they finally arrived and swore I would not buy a Jeep from them or ever get one serviced by them. I currently drive 20 minutes further to Healdsburg to get my Jeep serviced and have had great experiences so far.

I really hope your Toyota treats you well and Happy Easter!
