There's always been something about the Gladiator (and by extension the JL) that I've liked but haven't been able to put my finger on.
Then I saw a mock up of a Jurassic park jeep in a parking lot the other day and it hit me. The grille.
I always LOVED the Jurassic Park YJ's. And something that sets the YJ apart from other wranglers (and the CJ's before it) besides the square headlights is the slight angle on the grille, it basically runs in a line under the headlights.
The CJs, YJ, and JK all have flat grilles.
The Gladiator (and JL) have a very similar bend!
It's a little higher up, but it's there.
Kind of funny how the brain works. I don't know if it's an intentional callback to the YJ but I'm glad it's like that!
