Stainless vs Steel Westin HDX Drop Steps

I'm looking at the Westin HDX steps that are on sale and wondering if folks have had experiences with the $150 more for Stainless (and lifetime vs 3 yr warranty) vs the regular steel? I see most folks like them a lot (minus the awful instructions) doing some searches around here as well.

If you live where they salt the heck out of the roads in the winter, it's a no-brainer to to with the stainless.

After 7 months of the westin stainless steps - starting to rust. Emailed westin today, we'll see what they say.
