My dealer told me those had to be lazer-cut keys and very expensive to do and had to have a new lazer cut key machine that not all dealers have !Had a new key cut, fob in a giant green box and regular metal key on my keychain. 1968 style![]()
How much was cutting the new key? someone mentioned $118! I would surely hope not.Had a new key cut, fob in a giant green box and regular metal key on my keychain. 1968 style![]()
That's crazy. I had a spare purchased online cut locally for $25 or so.EDIT: $135 to cut the blank (deep breathing)
A bunch of places on ebay with cut with either a photo or the QR keycode that came with your keys for $25. You have to mail them the blank. My dealer told me those had to be lazer-cut keys and very expensive to do and had to have a new lazer cut key machine that not all dealers have !
I scraped up my transmitter chip pretty good too, in getting it out. I just took it out to my Jeep by itself and held it up to the push-button start, to verify I didn't break it. But, if you've already got it in the new AJT fob, I'd just run with it. It's probably fine.Today I screwed up my key, while switching to AJT case. You simply can’t wiggle a weak alloy out of the housing as presented in the video. Likewise you simply can’t remove the proximity chip out of the plastic casing without some mojo surgery.
goid luck to me once the battery runs out. ?

Let us know how easy or hard the 7 to 8.4 upgrade is. I've considered potentially upgrading.Installed the aev 2inch lift to my Mojave with geometry correction brackets. My 8.4 should arrive today and I’ll upgrade from the 7 inch.
The switch is easy. It’s going from 21. Glad to 21 glad. The issues I’m hoping is that I don’t get issues with usb failures or apple car play usb. I’ll post my updates.Let us know how easy or hard the 7 to 8.4 upgrade is. I've considered potentially upgrading.
So the switch is super easy. Pulled it in 4 mins. Remove the control unit (just did it with a flat head) pulled right off. 2 screws for the bezel, popped off after and 4 for the radio. Everything else plugs in pretty much the same way red to red, white to white, blue to yellow and usb + main only fit in one spot. Reverse the order installing the new unit back. If it’s a used radio upon startup it asks for the unlock code and your good.Let us know how easy or hard the 7 to 8.4 upgrade is. I've considered potentially upgrading.
Did you do the entire truck? How much did it set you back? One price I got was around 6K.Got PPF put on the truck!
