  1. Got the bad news today

Charging you $3700 for a teardown to see if it's a HEAD GASKET? He can tell if it's internal (ie, a head gasket) with a system pressure test. If it's a Mopar warranty take it to another dealer. I tell you, having made a living in the automotive service indudtry, when I read stuff like this I...
  2. IMPORTANT BATTERY INFO FOR ALL JT OWNERS

Pull fuse #42. It eliminates the switching relay for the small battery.
  3. Take-off Old ARB Twin Compressor

[Banned Site] has a good video on mounting up a single compressor and wiring it to the factory switch pack.
  4. IMPORTANT BATTERY INFO FOR ALL JT OWNERS

Just like with a flashlight, where you wouldn't just replace one of two batteries because the weaker one will shorten the life of the new one, same goes for this bloody system. When the little POS in the fender needs replacing (it will always die first) you should dig deep, pony up the cash and...
  5. Locking Hubs, who's gonna be the first???

Well, think about it. Tighter turning radius, no bound up front axle shafts, diff, t-case, etc. The Atlas 2 transfer case has a 2lo feature that rocks. Crawlers use it all the time.
  6. Locking Hubs, who's gonna be the first???

Yep. Or, if you have a LSD in the rear it would be unaffected and work normally. I'm not sure how the BLD feature ("Brake Lock Differential" where the ABS stops a spinning or slipping wheel) would be affected.
  7. Locking Hubs, who's gonna be the first???

With manual hubs you have the option of 2WD low by simply not locking them in.
  8. Locking Hubs, who's gonna be the first???

Manual hubs are a great feature, no doubt. But the legacy type found on CJs, classic Broncos and a zillion pickups require a lot of conversion and a a lot of money. I’m not aware of anything offered that would work on JL/JT other than what this guy is selling. Being a ā€œJK Pioneerā€ when I...
  9. Locking Hubs video

The vendor is getting something of a bad rep already, but if these are strong enough to deal with realistic loads of 37ā€+ tires, etc. it will be a good upgrade. I’ve run Spyntec locking hubs on my JK since 2010 and the feature is great for on highway driving. In the case of Spyntec the cost...
  10. Is this hood decal cheesy??

Things like that are a personal choice and if it brightens your day it’s just fine.
  11. What is the red rubicon shock ?

The red Willys shocks are rumored to be the same as the ones fit to Rubicon. They ride OK, though I like a bit more control. I’m doubtful they are the same as they have different part numbers.
  12. Little lift kit question

    Spacer or spring?
  13. Who has one of these Bunker Indust Portable Hydraulic Jacks?

I bought Bunkers inertia rope kit off Amazon not expecting much but its actually good stuff and good value.
  14. DIY Starter replacement 2022 Mojave MT

We had a starter fail at about 20,000 miles on one of our Jeep tour Gladiators that’s based in Moab. The darn ESS takes its toll if you don’t shut the bloody thing off one way or the other.
  15. Ouray Day 3. Ophir Pass and the Red Mountain Trail

Basically this is my back yard. Love to see how much people enjoy visiting and exploring our magical home.
  16. Aux battery delete now issues

I have 3 ā€˜21 Sport Max Tows in tour Jeep service. As the ā€œA!ā€ warning lights come on we remove the aux battery ground at the battery, pull the #42 fuse and replace the main battery. No more aux battery issues and the Jeeps work great. Bear in mind these are bare bones Sports. My personal ā€˜23...

  18. Info on Imogene from any locals here?

Imogene is open from the Ouray side to the summit, where you can turn around and backtrack. You can descend towards Tomboy townsite but there is a gate somewhere in there that will only permit foot and two-wheeled vehicles. We are still not aware of what the County plans in the way of fully...
  19. Major Failure at 30k

Just an editorial comment re: Euro powerplants under USA conditions. That diesel was never designed for the normal driving conditions we experience here. They have lower ambient temps, higher grade fuels, much less freeway-type driving, lower average speeds (simple factor of shorter average...
