I'm sure most are aware Imogene Pass is closed for retaining wall/slide repair. As the info from official sites is basic, I have come across info from some folks that provides some hope.
I understand the Telluride entry is blocked but read that Ouray entrance is still open.
So does someone with actual local knowledge know if we can enter from Ouray to summit then turn around? Trying to salvage trip plans which start at Rubicon next week and puts us in Silverton on 11,12,13 August.
Appreciate any info.

Imogene is open from the Ouray side to the summit, where you can turn around and backtrack. You can descend towards Tomboy townsite but there is a gate somewhere in there that will only permit foot and two-wheeled vehicles. We are still not aware of what the County plans in the way of fully reopening the trail from the Telluride side. The damage was far worse than they had estimated last year.

Thank you so very much. I'm relieved to be able to run it.
