For now... have an MP Concepts aluminum front bumper from ET but need some warm days to install since while she does fit in the garage, there's not much working room...
Got a 12k lb winch as well waiting to go.
A buddy's going to buy my plastic one when I'm done so really not a bad investment.
Honestly, go aftermarket for your bed liner. I have had plenty of rentals with the factory and it is nice, BUT most of the aftermarket options feel a bit "softer" or maybe "stickier" and are a bit thicker. I am SURE the factory one will hold up just fine, but having had work trucks with LineX...
We saw a Sarge Green Rubi up the Alpine Loop in late July (my family, my folks, and my sister's family spent 2 weeks out in Southwestern Colorado and Eastern Utah this summer) and I was sold on the color... then like two weeks later the rumor mill had that they were launching Sarge on the...
Ok here goes:
Eco Diesel
Cloth Seats
7" Radio
Black HardTop (already have a softtop)
Proximity Entry (love this with the silly sized key!)
Trailer Tow (have a 1200lb popup)
Mud Terrain
Pretty much a base model Rubi...
Truth... BUT I was really looking for the factory look, but couldn't justify essentially $2000 for a steel bumper (ordering it it would have required LED Lights which for over a grand is just nuts, I can get really nice ones aftermarket for far less)... AND at the time the Mopar Steel was...
Light (really specific, right...), bought two, one for my father (he got a 2021 JLUR from the same dealer) and they BOTH were a bit beat up and ended up getting a pretty solid store credit (enough for 70% of the winch so...
Honestly it was within a few pounds of the factory plastic one... BUT...
I picked up a MP Concepts Aluminum bumper from Extreme Terrain (comes with an aluminum skid and winch plate) a few weeks back and a 12,000 lbs winch... as well as a softtop, 5th factory wheel for the spare, and a set of the Mopar Premium rock rails...
I saw a Nacho Rubi Gladiator at another dealership and I think, especially in the Willys trim (the black really makes the orange pop, only see JLURs like this, but still), it looks really nice.
Edited to clarify... been a day.
You know I thought about the same thing... BUT this is my first new vehicle ever and first different vehicle in 12 years so I figured what the heck, let's get what I want and deal with the consequences later... "That's future me's problem..."
Took delivery this evening of my Sarge Green Eco Diesel Rubicon Gladiator. I'll get some more pictures posted tomorrow, but I gotta say, if you're in Ohio, I'd HIGHLY recommend Blake at Dave Dennis in Beavercreek. Seriously good dude and the dealership was quick at getting us out of there...
Just to put a bit of an update... I have heard from three separate manufacturer's that they are planning on releasing full skids:
Rock Hard:
Yes. We're working now to get a JT diesel in the shop so we can begin R&D on them. Be sure to stay tuned.
Motobilt:
This has been on our radar. Please...
