I'm experiencing the same, when I head to the grocery store, or Lowes, or anywhere else in town, my soot load goes up approx 5% per trip. Not a big deal to me as I have an idea when it is due to go into a regen on my next trip and plan for that.
I've actually done a regen at speeds less than 20...
That is what I see too. If I'm pulling my trailer and drive where my turbo Temps are steadily above 1000 my soot levels are rising, but if I slow down and keep the turbo Temps around 850-900 my soot level slowly decrease. This is NOT what folks say about driving it hard to keep soot levels...
Not trying to knock your idea but if that tank is 50 liters, how many can you actually use? It looks like only about 80% of it would come out of the drain from the looks of its location on the side of the tank.
By the way, 50 liters of water weighs 111 lbs so I wouldn't worry about the weight...
I've tried researching this in the past and I'm fairly certain that fuel is injected during the exhaust stroke during regen (and may have actually read that somewhere). There is no additional injector in the exhaust system per the parts diagrams I've looked at.
A forced regen won't happen until everything is up to temp anyway, the scan tool to force a regen even says this on the screen "regen will begin once engine perimeters are met". The dealer or shop will let the vehicle sit and idle for 30 min or so to get it up to temp before starting a forced...
All, there is some bad info sneeking into this thread (I.e. need to change oil after a regen).
Your ecodiesel will regen approx every 700 miles regardless of soot levels. You will NOT see any indication of this on your dash with the stock setup.
Your ecodiesel will also regen if the soot level...
I did the hood plunger mod on mine a year ago and it keeps the start/stop system from working without issue. The light on the dash doesn't bother me at all and I don't even notice it anymore.
Just curious, but are the wheelbase measurements about the same on those two vehicles? If so, a jt built up right could do the same trails, is that right.
You can try these rf chokes on every cable (Antenna and power) to cut rf (radio frequency) from getting into your display. They do work but I've only used them to keep my home ham radio setup from getting into my home stereo.
Put them close to the equipment and you can loop the power cable thru...
I haven't read past the first page, but did read the first post and may have missed it but I have a question
Where are they made?
It says designed and engineered in America, but are they made here?
I know your not talking about Wavian metal cans, but I have 3 of them and strap them down on their side over a few thousand miles and they haven't leaked. Worth the cost if you ask me.
This guy made a start battery from capacitors and posted this youtube 12 yrs ago. The problem comes with a low power reserve. Caps can give a lot of currant for a short amount of time, but don't have much reserve capacity for low current needs.
Interesting concept.
If you get a chance, can you get a photo of the clogged intake butterflys when they have it apart?
Ide like to know how much carbon sludge I can look forward to on these. Gen 3 engines.
I have the app call "AlphaOBD", it will allow a manual (forced) regen either moving or stationary (I've done it just to make sure it will).
I paid $50 for the app license, but I do believe it only works with android, maybe you could just get an old android phone for this since your an apple guy...
