I had high amounts of aluminum & boron. More than what is average for 70k miles of normal use. I only had 18k miles of old man driving at that time. Call me paranoid if you want, but that doesn’t sound good to me.
Edit: it was 70k not 80k as I had previously.
Bingo!
I sent a sample for testing before changing mine. I was not excited about the results for a new trans with only 18k miles. They recommended fluid be changed immediately and soon after to get all the shit out. I didn’t have the glycol or whatever from bad manufacturing practices that...
Just my opinion…. You already waited too long. Change the fluid now or pay out-of-pocket for a new trans when it does fail. Seems like a no brainer to me.
Edit: I’ve had these on my JT for 2 years now. Love them. Only issue I had…I popped the lens apart on one when I was banging ice off the fender when it was -22* out one day. Had to get a replacement.
This is the correct way to crimp those lugs, but if your limited on funds to buy such fancy tools you can use a square head bit with channel lock pliers like I use. Makes a solid crimp even with 2gauge and 1/2” lugs for free. Just sayin
Thats a load of BS. There is nothing electronic about the actual steering gear. What they dont want to tell you is the truth…. They are made in china and dont give a single shit about tolerances and quality control. Same problem they have had from day one with the aluminum boxes. Im not even...
I purchased this from Amazon and it was clearly dropped by the damaged box, but the outer Amazon box was perfect. Long story short….I got a replacement and got to keep the first one. I’ll keep it for a spare if nobody wants it for half price. It doesn’t come with the wiring harness because I...
If I find anything concerning I’ll post it up. I’ve always hated the way this thing up-shifts. It will go into 8th gear @ 46mph. Thats not normal to me. I live in the mountains so unless I put her in manual mode, it can up & down shift 3 million times in a 20 minutes drive.
What concerned me the most was the filter being covered in this same material, at least from what I can see in the top hole. I’ll probably cut it open 2moro if I get bored just to see.
I used the million dollar mopar 8&9 speed stuff.
