  1. A tale of two Gladiators to get one 80th Anniversary model

I finally got a chance to get the Jeep off road and get some mud on it. It worked flawlessly and I was amazed by the capability.
  2. A tale of two Gladiators to get one 80th Anniversary model

Time to start doing some more involved projects. Step one is replacing the factory speakers. I have the upgraded Alpine stereo and it sounds more powerful with the amp and sub, but it still lacks clarity. So I took apart the sound bar like I did on my 2020 with the stock stereo and the 4 inch...
  3. A tale of two Gladiators to get one 80th Anniversary model

Until I get a chance to document my current project, here is my last little/easy project: A Quadratec short antenna. This should really be the first upgrade anyone does to these vehicles since the stock antenna is roughly 67 feet tall. I easily shaved off well over a foot of the stock antenna...
  4. Anyone install or use a Block or Battery heater in winter on the 3.6L?

I've never gone camping in -40 degrees, but I am glad it worked out for your marriage.
  5. Anyone install or use a Block or Battery heater in winter on the 3.6L?

I hear you on Vegas, but up here in northern WI the temps are much different than Indiana. We get that cold arctic air at least a few times a winter and last winter it lasted almost a week which completely killed my battery that was not even 2 years old and had an additional 120CCA compared to...
  6. Black Horse Roll Bar Installed

Thanks! Looks good. Is it easy to wire up the 3rd brake light? Nice! How well do the lights work on the roll bar being that far back from the front of the truck? Was it fairly easy to wire them up? I've been thinking about adding the aux switch kit from Mopar, but all the lights I look at...
  7. Does anyone have the N-Fab Rock Rail Step System (or the Fab Fours Tube Rock Sliders)?

Thanks for the input, but I am really just between the two I listed. With steps, I prefer them to be removable for off-roading.
  8. Black Horse Roll Bar Installed

I like the design of this roll bar. What are your thoughts after having it a little longer? Did you install a tonneau cover yet? I have a soft roll tonneau that I think would work with this, but it looks like I would only be able to roll it up about 2/3 of the way. I could probably make...
  9. Anyone install or use a Block or Battery heater in winter on the 3.6L?

Gotcha. How long do you need to plug in the factory block heater and does it turn off once it reaches a certain temperature?
  10. Anyone install or use a Block or Battery heater in winter on the 3.6L?

Just noticed you are in Vegas. Why do you need a block heater?
  11. Anyone install or use a Block or Battery heater in winter on the 3.6L?

I thought I read something like that. So what do you think Mr. Bill- better to warm the block 1st witht the mopar block heater or the oil with one of these magnetic or stick on oil pan coolers?
  12. Has anyone had good luck with Superchips or is there better tuning software that provides actual hp gains?

That's a bummer. I sent in the computer from my old car and did a road tune with a very well respected tuner and the tune they sent me was garbage. Spent the next month trying to get it fixed with more tuning.
  13. A tale of two Gladiators to get one 80th Anniversary model

My current truck has the black plastic "Gladiator" kick plates. My wife got me the shiny aluminum ones for my 2020 that had none. I kind of like how the black plastic ones blend into the black truck. What do you guys think- should I swap the black plastic ones out for aluminum or keep the...
  14. Has anyone had good luck with Superchips or is there better tuning software that provides actual hp gains?

Do they have stock ecms they have unlocked that they can ship like superchips so you have no down time with your truck? Do they have costs and performance gains on their site? I missed it.
  15. Has anyone had good luck with Superchips or is there better tuning software that provides actual hp gains?

There is probably just not a big enough market for anyone to invest in the effort to do it correctly yet. I heard this countless times in the performance car world. Remember the Nissan GT-R was claimed to be "impossible to tune" by Nissan? Now there are 2,000+ hp GT-R's running around.
  16. Anyone install or use a Block or Battery heater in winter on the 3.6L?

Not to disrespect your climate in VT, but our coldest (-30 degree or worse) days and parking outside for 10+ hours a day has killed 2 larger than stock batteries in my last car in 3 years. It will probably work fine most of the winter, but there are always a few days that just crush batteries...
  17. Has anyone had good luck with Superchips or is there better tuning software that provides actual hp gains?

They don't have any specific tuner or software for our trucks. I see the option to buy a cable. Do they do road tunes or do I need to drive all the way to detroit to get on their dyno for a tune?
  18. Has anyone had good luck with Superchips or is there better tuning software that provides actual hp gains?

Just to be clear, I'm not looking for huge gains, just something to wake this thing up a bit. This engine has been out for over 3 years so I figured someone would have figured out an easy way to tune it by now. Maybe not. In the car world everyone uses a Cobb Accessport, but they clearly have...
  19. Does anyone have the N-Fab Rock Rail Step System (or the Fab Fours Tube Rock Sliders)?

I am hoping the steps on these sit a bit lower than the stock Jeep step rails. Can anyone compare? I also like that the steps can be removed for trails. Anyone have any experience with these? If the N-Fabs don't pan out, my back up is the Fab Fours Tube Rock Sliders. Any experience with...
  20. Has anyone had good luck with Superchips or is there better tuning software that provides actual hp gains?

What makes you say that? I come from 20+ years of tuning and racing cars and we have always been able to get significant gains out of N/A motors that were already supposedly tuned for "near maximum performance." I would imagine a basic Jeep motor would have all kinds of room for improvement.
