Yeah, it really seems silly about a few extra rotations per mile, especially when there are those that take them mudding and one side spins dozens and dozens of times more than the other wheels and no one seems concerned about that...
That is where getting 5 matching wheels and tires is of benefit.
That is what I am doing...getting 5 matching Sahara take-offs for only $175. Even if I damage one, finding a replacement on the cheap will not be an issue.
I also plan on rotating every 5k so wear won't be as drastic between them.
So what if you have a mismatched spare...at least you still have the use of the 4 good matching tires for the remainder of their life and there is no risk to safety.
I got mine for towing, but the bed is a nice addition I can and will certainly utilize.
I was originally shopping for a Wrangler, but the only nice one I liked was a manual, so I had to pass as the wife preferred the auto.
Most likely going to pick up a set of Wrangler take-offs on the cheap so I have 5 matching.
Looking to put 35's and maybe 1" spacers.
I don't plan on putting a lift on it until I pick up another daily driver, so at least 2 - 3 years down the road.
It sort of makes me wonder what the enviro's that own JT's do to offset the extra carbon they are spewing...
Do they buy carbon credits to make themselves feel better, or do 20 self lashings every night before bed?
