Since this started for me with codes around the swirl valves, and Iām not deleting, I looking for the Mopar replacement kit. Just seems crazy that I canāt find a major component thatās known to need replacement on a truck thatās only 5 years old.
Letting off some steam I guess. Nothing to do...
My truck started throwing the swirl valve code last year. Runs fine, but can't pass NYS inspection with an emissions code.
I've had a manifold on order from the Mopar parts folks since January, and even got a dealer involved hunting for me a month ago. Everyone tells me there are none...
Five plus years. No warranty. No loan. Never let me down. Iām a few miles short of 140K and on this sunny day Iām heading into the Jefferson National Forest to play on the Potts Mountain trail. Still love every mile and minute. You will too. These are great rigs.
Go with the bigger tent and be comfortable. I ran this full aluminum box for years, and did plenty of challenging trails. Never an issue. These trucks handle it very well.
Next crazy question ā anyone know where I can buy the Mopar manifold?
I had a few places bookmarked and I just jumped in to buy the manifold, but everyone says itās back ordered. Iāve got a window in 10 days or so to do this work, but Iām starting to think I missed the boat.
Thanks for the reply.
As an eager potential customer, I suggest you consider a minor design modification that allows for width adjustment. It would immediately open up your potential customer base to include folks with no trail rails and those with other things such as molle panels already...
I like this idea and an approachable price.
Does the width adjust? I have front and side molle panels now, and this seems like it would be easy to mount to this in a variety of positions. It would just need those upper arms to adjust to be slightly more narrow to fit inside the side panels. If...
Greetings again. Just rewatched the video as I get set to tackle my own. Two questions:
Can you list out the specialty tools you used for the fuel lines and the hard to reach torx bolts?
Also, whatās your recommended solution for the alternator harness plug?
Thanks again for this. Iāll try to...
I picked up a Smittybilt ten years ago for the same reason, and it's still working like a stud. I've used it on two trucks, and its gets pretty steady use pulling other folks out of trouble or clearing fallen trees from trails. I pulled a few dead trees down a few weeks back. No regrets.
Great video. I'm facing the same manifold need at 134K, so this was a very welcome find. Thanks.
For what it's worth I've been running 37s for about the last 80K, including lots of mountain trails both East Coast and Rockies, and I never felt like I needed to regear. There's plenty of torque...
I've been running 37s (Baja Boss ATs) for the past 80K+ and my experience is similar. The Gladiator Ecodiesel loves those 37s, and everything feels more smooth and stable. I'm not close to matching your mpgs (24 clean; 22 with RTT, rack and gear) but I'm loving that you're getting there.
Thanks...
I'm at 134K and still running full stock emissions. I need to replace the intake manifold courtesy of a stuck swirl valve and I'm thinking about an EGR delete when I do that.
Overall, this thing has run run like a champ from coast to coast a few times and through a lot of sand, snow, mud, rocks...
Agree on then great work. Love the way you matched the lines of the cab.
Also agree on those joints. I think four corner plates bolted to the both sides of the four outer corners will give you the resistance to rotational collapse that you need.
Some version of these would do. Judging by your...
