Summer 2022 lesson #1: Power
I run with a EcoFlow River Pro power station, which advertises a capacity a little over 700Wh. It's a great little self-contained system, and super easy to fit into the back of my rig. I keep it in the rear footwell behind the driver's seat, and power it from the...
Been way too long since my last update.
On the upside, I spent most of the past 5 months on trips of various kinds -- from 1,000+ mile highway treks to primitive camping, from Vero Beach to the upper Adirondacks. Learned a bit about the rig, and a lot about the gear; what worked, what didn't...
Label was received and package was brought to FedEx today for return. It's been a huge hassle, but is @Quadratec actually pays me back on this, they'll at least get me to look at their products again. Which is good, because I miss watching Rob.
I'm very happy with my Mopar lift, although like @Sarge502 said, it's a lift, not a level. The rake remains, and for good reason. I load the bed with construction debris or camping gear quite often, and things level out pretty well.
Lots of great options. Good luck, and enjoy.
Just an update. Pretty much out of nowhere, after I'd given up, I got an email from "Lorraine" at @Quadratec two weeks ago promising that FedEx would sent me a label and they'd offer a refund. Honestly, I was thrilled to get anything back. Still haven't received the label, but I'm looking out...
I'm with you and the consensus here. No need to jump into Rubicon or Mojave out of the gate (unless you find a killer deal). Start simple, and build up as you learn what you need. That Willys sounds like a smart start, and I would get a few trips under your belt before you dive into any...
I haven't yet. I figure why invert DC to AC, just to convert it back to DC for the battery to charge. It's a handy plug location, and I might try it just to get a sense of how that option would work, but the DC plug that came with the EcoFlow easily reaches from the back floor to the front plug...
Absolutely. I just got back from a seven day trip, and I found the EcoFlow drew about 75-80 watts from the car as I drove, while the IceCo only pulled about 50 when the compressor was running, which was only about one-third of the time with both halves set at 39 degrees and the air temp around...
That Rain Gear looks good, but Iāll add an amen for the Mopar cab cover. I used it in Florida thunderstorms and upstate three-day downpours, hold rock solid and had never leaked. I keep it in a bag under my Goose Gear platform.
Over naked truck
Over topless truck, doors on.
Combine it with a battery and some solar panels, and Iāve been stunned by how well and how long I can keep stuff cold. Definitely opens up some food options, and Iām glad to be free from ice.
Still, pick the type and size carefully. I went a little too big with mine, and it barely fits where the...
Thatās some smart packing, and a dang good looking setup. Cooler access from the side is great, and the chuck box at the gate for quick roadside cooking is a smart move.
Iāve lived out of mine for up to three weeks at a time so far. Iām running a fridge in the cab on a Goose Gear 60 delete, and...
