I have both the Hard Top and the Soft Top. The Gladiator I wanted at the dealer only had the Soft Top and the dealer charged me a bit under $2300 for the Hard Top.
I got the truck in the Winter and had the Hard Top on until early April. I was thinking that maybe I would have been better off...
That is a great place to camp and some of the best fishing you will find anywhere. Your setup seems perfect for a few days on Cape Lookout. The only negative is the having to plan around the ferry but well worth the effort.
Did you run across the parking area with the vehicles people leave...
I would be interested to see what Jeep says about this as a warranty claim. I would guess they would claim act of God unless this was somehow a common issue. It may seem hard to imagine how a rock hit it but Murphy's Law is a bitch.
The extra engineering may make it better at the fringes of capacity but you would not notice it in most cases. Your real issue is the door sticker does not match what it probably can do with the upgraded hitch. That could be an issue with your insurance company if you ever get into an...
They do seem pretty pricey but they are essentially hand made. There is not enough of a market for them to build economies of scale. Also: anything meant to go off-road also needs to be better engineered and built than a basic RV trailer. Hand crafting almost everything takes a lot of man...
There are two options for adding a hitch. What you have now if you look closely is the ability to attach a ball\hitch to the bumper. The other is to get the full Trailer Hitch Receiver that attaches to the frame and replaces the one that will be attached to your bumper now. I was able to get...
Here are some pics of the eye bolts attached to the top. You could add quick links as well. The whole setup is very secure. I use strap with a cam buckle which is much easier than using something with a ratchet style strap.

You want simple? I got simple.
2x4 on ceiling secured with decking screws.
Eye Screws secured to the 2x4.
Eye Bolts and Washers for the top itself.
Raise the top manually with nylon lashing straps.
(Not necessary but I have quick link carabiners on the Eye Screws)
I setup this...
Here in NC it was 90 most of the week but low humidity (Strange for NC this time of year.) It was very comfortable with the top down. But up the humidity and 90 would suck. You are really going to figure it out for yourself. If it is real humid and you start sweating it will evaporate with...
I wanted one when they first came out and they only had the LE and wanted sticker. They were slow to even get the Sport at my local dealer and still were not offering much in the way of discounts. I got mine at the end of January and it was about 7k off a 45k sticker. I saw on my news feed...
I have been struggling with what to get for car camping all week. I have typically just been a drive and hike in type when camping except for when with the Boy Scouts. The scouts had a whole trailer full of stuff so I never really accumulated any car camping cooking gear. The only thing I...
This solution was a little over $3 per.

Given the nature of the whole convertible removable roof thing I am not sure how practical it would be. But this looks like a great idea:

Looking at your profile I have to ask: Does this question mean you have an automatic Miata? Cause that just breaks my heart.
And don't be afraid to let the clutch out slowly to get a smooth shift. Just don't leave it slightly engaged. That is what kills a clutch.
I live just outside Raleigh, NC. I don't see a lot but I do see them. Fact is the Gladiator has not been around that long. I probably see a lot more Colorados and Tundras on the road but not many Rangers. Most of the trucks I see are full sized Chevy, Ford and a more and more Rams. The fact...
