  1. 2021 Bronco

I am interested in what the new Bronco will focus on. From the leaks it does look like it might be an actual competitor to the Wrangler. In my mind the Bronco did not compete with the Jeep after they changed it in 1978. I kind of liked the Bronco from that era but it was a very different...
  2. Covering the hitch cut in?

I assumed you would just put a ball on it pointing upward. Had not even considered you could put something like that on it. I put the full Trailer Hitch Receiver that bolts to the frame on mine. It was less than $300 but if you are only going to pull a utility trailer I guess that would be fine.
  3. Gladiator bed durability

I have had both kinds of bed liners. I got the factory spray in with the Gladiator. I really prefer the spray in over a drop in but the one use case for the drop in that might make it better would be Firewood. You can throw it in the bed and not worry about it. The negative to drop-ins is...
  4. Why did everyone decide their trim level (sport vs rubicon etc)?

I am reducing the fleet down to only one vehicle and wanted a convertible and a truck. This left the Gladiator as my only option. As for trim level it was driven by cost. A car\truck is a depreciable asset and dropping money on one is not an investment. I drew a arbitrary line of $40K and...
  5. Thule Xsporter Pro?

Sahara? There is no Sahara Gladiator. IF you have a Gladiator without the Trail Rail system you should be fine. The standard kit works on most truck beds out of the box. You need to purchase something additional if you have the Trail Rail or similar system like on the Tacoma.
  6. Wait for Diesel or just get a gasser?

Uh Oh: He's starting the V8 fight again... And....2020 Mustang Shelby GT350R starts at $73,435
  7. What did you do TO your Gladiator today? [ADMIN WARNING: NO POLITICS, NO GUN TALK]

I've had mine since January and have only managed 2500 miles. Covid has cut way down on the wear and tear of my vehicles.
  8. Wait for Diesel or just get a gasser?

I thought about waiting for a diesel until I found out what the premium was on the Wrangler. It is not an option that would pay for itself and I don't have a use case that would make it that much better than the gas engine. The mileage will be better but diesel per gallon is more expensive...
  9. Educating a newb on 2H,4H,N and 4L

I hate to complicate it further but there are also other considerations depending you your build. If you got the Rubicon edition you may have lockers that may be used in certain situation. Some models come with a Limited Slip Differential (Trac Lok) The Trac Lok would give your rear...
  10. New here and new Gladiator

Here are some Rubicon LE take-offs with the Sport S standard tires for comparison. There are no issues. Some people remove the air dams in the front to give a little more clearance. There are numerous posts of people going larger without issues in normal use.
  11. Sport S (31") to Rubicon (33") wheels...do I NEED a programmer (Tazer Mini)

https://tiresize.com/calculator/ will give you the mph difference. But it is about 2 mph based on what Waze indicated before and after the change. Really the difference is probably about the same as normal tire wear at the end of tread life.
  12. Hard Top or Soft

I have both tops and if I had a choice of only one it would be the soft top. I purchased it in January and thought the Sunrider would have been a better choice because of how quickly you can flip it down but after putting the soft top on It would not be the same. The airflow with the top down...
  13. what are you using to protect the black fenders and top.

I used a ceramic coating "ARMOR SHIELD IX" on the Gladiator. It has been a few months and it still looks good. I have a 2014 JKU that had the faded plastic look and Armor-All and other like coating would look good for a few weeks but then fade again. I put the ARMOR SHIELD IX on it and it...
  14. How do you deal with the thought of another full size truck?

Trying to park a F250 in a parking deck is a good way to help you break the habbit.
  15. $59,999 OTD price for an LE - good?

The LE is really just a highly optioned Rubicon, there is very little unique about it. Unless you plan to keep it for 25 years and not drive it will depreciate like any other Gladiator. I would look at other Rubicons and make sure you are paying for just the features you want. And...auto...
  16. After Market Tow options

The install is pretty easy. I used the jack to hold it in place and was able to do it without any help. Mine already had all the required wiring for the hitch. Was backordered at the dealer so picked up an OEM on Amazon for less than $300. For my use case the extra cooling and alternator...
  17. Hauling Long Lumber

Normally I would just use the rails. They work great. I just put the soft top on about two weeks ago and it never dawned on me with the top down I could just slide them thru the Window. I had actually raised the back one when it dawned on me I did not need them. It was faster to just slide...
  18. soft top question / issue - bungee strap

I took the straps off the JK and tried them on the Gladiator today. It works ok and visibility out the back is fine. You can't really roll up the window like you can with the JK but it is out of the way and people can sit in the back fine. Normally I just put the window on the floor of the...
  19. Hauling Long Lumber

I was raising the rack above the roof when I realized with the top down I could just just stick them thru the back. Laid diagonally you can put a long load above the windshield and carry 16" plus. Multiple places to tie them down if necessary.
  20. Why not buy a full size truck for the same price?

I did not even consider a full sized truck. The competition for me was other Mid size trucks. There is a use case for a full size truck but not for me. As long as I can load a full size sheet of plywood I am good to go. Modern full sized are huge. Even the Gladiator is not a small...
