I had a 74 CJ5 with the V8, three speed manual. That was a fun Jeep, that said that was 45 years ago. At my age I don't think it would make my daily driver any more.
While I have been watching this topic with interest, today was 75. While I don't normally deal with winter driving. I am watching to get tips for my February trip to Tn.
The remote start will have some effect on MPG, unless you idle a lot should not be huge. Several things effect the gas millage. My 2020 Sport S averages 20 on the highway, 17 to 18 in town. I had Rubicon takeoffs installed when I took delivery. Terrain affects your MPG . In Fl my drive is flat...
I used the PPE pan, I like the drain plug. On my old F250, I drained the pan every 10K changed the filter every 40K. the old truck has 285K on it original trans. On the old truck each change of 6 quarts was about a third of the fluid. My theory was I would have a complete flush every 30K. After...
When my 250 was rear ended I told the adjuster that I wanted all the hitch hardware replaced, he just added it to the work order. Did not question if it was needed. It's 6 or 8 grade 8 bolts and 10 minutes.
That's the reason I always leave my hitch in. 15 years ago I got rear ended in my F250, bent my draw bar, no damage to the truck. Granted it was a large hitch but it killed the Cady no other damage to the truck.
I looked at a70 MGB last year, Good looking car thought it over decided at 21 working on a broken down car was fun. At 72 not so much. I'm sure the electrical gremlins have not become better with age. I told my grandson it's a British car not a fine wine, doesn't improve with age.

I had a 69 MGB convertible in 74 when I was a young broke serviceman. We used to take bets on when it would strand me. A lot of fun, had a dealers parts guy tell me the electrical system was knitted out of WWII surplus parts.
I am on the second set of Wildpeaks on my 2020 Sport S. First set went 74K, Replaced the trail terrains on my wife's TJ with them. Great traction in the sand.
My first encounter of the Bamby kind was in early 70s in western Colorado, hit it with a government GMC Carryall. A very heavy built truck. The GMC was totaled, entire front end was destroyed. We were doing 45 amazing amount of damage. WE were told to be glad we didn't hit an elk.
I took mine to the dealership at 50K and ask for a trans service, and I think that I scared them. They told me that it was a lifetime service don't do it. I ordered my parts online and after watching a few videos it was not that hard. I replaced my trans pain with a aftermarket unit that has a...
