I replaced my tie rod and drag link with the ones from metal cloak. They have replaceable and greaseable joints. However, I still have the clunk, turns out the disconnecting sway bar motor has slop in it. At least that's what I have narrowed it down to after replacing everything else.
Damn, I didn't even consider splitting the difference... that was super helpful man I really appreciate it! And thanks for the photos! I'm gonna go ahead and order them.
Wondering the same thing. I have aev saltas, 8.5 inches wide. I contacted Mickey Thompson and they said 8.5 should be fine but don't go any wider. I'm worried they may look stretched and I don't want my truck to look like a Honda Civic
It's been a while since I had time to fiddle with things on the truck. I posted a video below of what I think the problem is. I unbolted one side of the front sway bar and found more slop in the auto-disconnect than I think is normal. Let me know your thoughts. Also, I'm guessing this wouldn't...
Yea I noticed both the tie rod and the drag link were both moving excessively but the tie rod was worse, so I replaced it first. The clunk is still there but definitely not as often so I suspect they were tag teaming this one. My new drag link is here so once I throw it on, I think it will solve...
I got some free boots like that once. The boots I ordered showed up within a few days. They called me the next day saying sorry we had to cancel your order, here's your refund. I just said no worries, thanks.
Don't mean to hijack here, but I have a similar issue and have narrowed it down to the tie rod ends. I understand that the tie rod should have rotational movement, but the ball joint on the ends shouldn't move up and down, correct? It's torqued correctly, but I can see some movement when...
Trade in that GT500 for a snowblower! Jk. I've found that lower pressure and less skinny pedal helps the most in the deep stuff. Or..... you can always weld that sob to the floor and hang on!
Honestly, up until the moment below, I LOVED that EcoDiesel. Even after I still have considered getting another one hoping that they fixed the old issues with the ones in the Rams. I definitely haven't heard of as many issues with the JT. I'd say do it if it makes sense for you.
Barbor Fork, Coney Flats, T-33 Crash Site, Red Cone Pass, Metberry Gultch, Longwater Gultch, Hackett Gultch, Slaughterhouse Gultch, Medano Pass, Fourmile Loop... and I think that's it so far. Next summer I'd like to do the Telluride area, Black Bear, Ouray, and Engineer. Haven't needed my winch yet.
