Do you have a limited slip in the rear, or just the BLD. BLD is just an open diff where the electronics squeeze the brake on one side in an attempt to send torque to the other, it works ok(better than most but its still an open diff). Jeep also offers an actual LSD in the rear, it works well. If...
Do you need the extra load capacity of new springs or the free length? Do you dislike the way it currently rides and drives?
Unless you are looking for different spring rates, more free length, or different ride characteristics just go with spacers and call it a day. If you do want any of the...
Still not really convinced this is a real "issue", there are tons of these on the road, on the trail, built to all kinds of crazy conditions including over 8K lbs on the original frame with no bends. Not saying this couldnt or doesnt happen, but if frame bending or cracking really was such a...
Had both a A-Liner expedition that was a hard side pop up and it towed like a dream with it's lack of wind resistance and 3k pound weight. Now tow a NoBo 19.8, its much nicer inside and with a WDH tows pretty well too. Definitely feel it behind the truck above 65 though and on hills but it's...
The current 4xe actually does this a bit. Mine will stay around 1400 rpm constant when the battery is down to its last 3 kwh and cruising where the engine doesn't actually need to provide power, just keep the battery static charged.
I tow a 4600lb nobody 19.8 with 38s and 5.13s and Clayton 2.5 (so 3 inch really) with no real issues. Definitely not an mpg or top speed champ, but no real issues getting going or stopping as the gears provide near diesel and 3.73 torque just at a much higher rpm
From an overall green perspective the actual best approach is a traditional phev which has a battery just big enough to handle the average daily commute on a single charge and then an efficient gas engine for further duties. This allows for the most amount of efficiency from a given amount of...
Red Scorpion is the single best place in the Bay Area for regears. Ron there knocks out a few JL/JTs a week and has the proper tools and experience for it. I personally know 3 jeeps that have had him do the gears (including mine) and none of us have had issues in many 10s of thousands of miles.
Perception is a hell of a drug. People love torque (just look at the diesel crowd), but to me slow is slow and torque alone doesnt tickle my biscuits. An extra second is a big no from me dawg since as it is the gladiator is a bit underpowered (imo) and the ineos falls in to woefully inadequate...
Yes, gcwr is everything between both vehicles including passenger tires etc. Someone will come in and mention that you basically have no payload left, but heavier tires and rims aren't really payload so you can probably fudge that a bit. That said I'm on 38s as well and with 5.13s and I wouldn't...
Noticed a significant improvement over stock actually. Less bumpsteer, tighter steering wheel, less play. My stock stuff was really loose with everything but the pitman arm joint literally falling out on its own when I loosened it.
I also watched my tie rod flex over a big ass rock and then...
The ko2s are on discount because they're being replaced by ko3s. The ko2s are fine tires, I'd still say they are overrated at this point though as they're a fairly old offering in the class and have been surpassed by the general atx and Baja boss and the falkens. (All tires I've had experience...
Other option is to do what the 4xe 2 door gladiator by Quadratech did and put it between the bed and the cab or even shove it behind the seats in the cab but have the back wall of the cab jut out more to where the bed/cab gap would be
Fair enough, I checked as well and sure enough its not 4.10's, 2.5K buys you 5.13's but not the wider axles. I still think the willy's is the sweet spot which unless you need something from the X packages is where the smart buy lives. It really just eats the lunch of the plain mojave and rubicon...
2024 Willy's has locking rear and 4.10s I believe. 12k is buying you shocks that you could buy for 1200 bucks on the marketplace, 1k dollar iron knuckles, cool steel hood, and some frame welds. If that sounds worth 12k go for it, but the 2024 Willy's package is really a major sweet spot in the...
Torque they're equal with the 4xe having a better torque curve as electric motors make max torque from 0 rpm so it peaks about 1k rpm sooner, horsepower it's still down like 100 HP on the 392 which is why after 30 the 4xe will only catch up at the next gas station.
Again though this is assuming...
You most likely had it in 2h and weren't getting the full beans or even close to it. The 4xe is really only exhilarating when it's worked super hard with the engine on and in 4h or else it pulls massive amounts of torque and HP.
The diesel is slower accelerating on 33s than my wife's 4xe is on...
