  1. I have some time to decide. opinions wanted. LTX or HEMI

The 850 and 875 are different beyond just country of origin in terms of actual torque rating. Zf makes an 850 in Germany as well while jeep uses 850re built in US. All jeep 875's are Germany made and hilariously the German made 875s have been less reliable than the Kokomo made 850s due to a bad...
  2. I’m having trouble with payload for a RV, help?

Thats true for any accident. Civil suits boils down to things, duty, causation and damage. If you caused the accident, you're screwed whether its because you were speeding, not paying attention, overloaded, or any other reason out there. Once the causation is established then it maybe matters...
  3. I’m having trouble with payload for a RV, help?

I'll take my chances, the legality is with the registered state, here my payload is gawr rated I can't get ticketed for being over just the door sticker so I am not breaking any law. If this was commercial it would be a different story as they are rated differently but personal non-commercial...
  4. 37 inch vs my 33 inch. Same tire weight. Does Tire weight or Tire size matter more?

Of course you will be covered. They would need to prove something blatantly negligent on your part and illegal to deny your claim which a 12.5 inch tire on a 7.5 rim is not.
  5. Gladiator 4XE Towing Capacity Maximum

It's pure speculation but the Grand Cherokee 4xe is at 6k lbs. I can't imagine we will be lower than that but I also wouldnt expect to be up at max row range because of heat and battery weight.
  6. I’m having trouble with payload for a RV, help?

Meh, people get too hung up on the number as if the truck will suddenly break in half if you are a bit over. Not saying you should go to 8k weight in the truck, but if you did you wouldn't be the first one to do it either. The axles are rated for 7500 pounds, which in many states is all the...
  7. Questions on towing with the Jeep Gladiator, non diesel

I think you might have mildly unrealistic expectations if you think 11.3 is all that bad with that much wind resistance behind you. That said i find 63 is my best mpg, with me in manual mode keeping it around 3K rpm's. I'm in the 9-10 range with a 4600 lb 7.5' wide 23 foot camper, but i'm also...
  8. I have some time to decide. opinions wanted. LTX or HEMI

Was wondering if someone would bring this up. The diesel didnt get the mojave treatment because of weight, swapping in a similar weight package up front means you're going to get rid of your mojave stuff anyways or at least throw off the weight so much that it wont ride right. That said, you...
  9. 3.0l Hurricane

AEV confirmed it does not fit. Its 4 inches longer than the hemi, which barely fit and is cooling limited already so this hurricane would be even worse. It would take a redesign of the firewall/engine bay to find more space or make more space like jeep did when it extended the engine bay to fit...
  10. 2024 Mojavicon to be

The diesel actually has many of the same frame reinforcements as well (not they did much as it's very very minimal). It was basically some extra welds and the diesel got some of those for the extra weight upfront such as at the track bar/steering box mount. I think it would be a more convincing...
  11. Jeep Beach24

I'll be towing the camper in Thursday. We are over in Tampa so go over Thursday night, jeep beach Friday, then do beach or cape Canaveral Saturday and then come home
  12. The Midsized Truck Challenges

I'll still maintain that the gladiator is more of a 2/5 ton truck not a midsize. The wheelbase, power and weight make it a match for a 1/2 ton of 10-15 years ago.
  13. 2024 Mojavicon to be

It's safe to assume that heavier will probably be literally a few pounds heavier rate not heavy duty. Other trims had varying springs based on options and the testing on the jl forum still shows them within a couple pounds of each other. Measure shock ride position before hand, and shoot to...
  14. 2024 Mojavicon to be

Interesting, I wonder how much stiffer and/or longer the spring is then. It wouldn't be much to compensate for the difference in bumper weight. The Rubicon has heavier rear springs for payload and tow rating, not really the bumpers. The Mojave shocks have a very narrow ride range so any increase...
  15. 2024 Mojavicon to be

I do not believe so unless something changed between the one I saw on the dealer lot and yours. It appeared to still be the same mojave springs as the non-x. The shocks and springs are designed to specifically work together, so just changing spring rate would throw off the shock tuning and vice...

If he just plans on keeping it stock height or a small spacer lift and doesnt need the stronger 4:1 T case or prefers the lower 2:72:1 it should be pretty much a wash. The hardest thing to switch in all of these is the T-Case. You either want a 4:1 or a 2:72, everything else can be converted to...
  17. PRP and Armorlite or....?

Can't speak for prp but I had katzkins in the ram that were awesome. Can get katzkins cheap if you wait for an event like jeep beach or jeep Invasion and ask someone for a code
  18. 37 inch vs my 33 inch. Same tire weight. Does Tire weight or Tire size matter more?

They're all 36.5ish, even the ko2. The ko2 running small stems from people measuring them under weight, and BFG has soft sidewalls so they squish quite a bit. Unmounted, they're accurate, under weight you will be usually 1/4-1/3 inch shorter than other tire manufacturers (milestar not...
  19. 3.0l Hurricane

The 3.6 is definitely not going anywhere. I'm sure it will soldier on as an engine for the 4xe/Hybrid platforms, and is also going to be the Range Extender in the Ram REV so possibly for the wrangler REV ~'28/'29 when it launches as well. Personally I'm expecting a 3.6 based gladiator 4xe just...
  20. Did my tire size actually change

This is the answer. Different tires squish more (BFG which people call small) some less (Kenda's for example), but the actual circumference is what matters. Start with the stated actual size, which for pmetric would be the 33.1, then adjust up or down by gps.
