For anyone interested, I didn’t get to do much Monday so today I worked from home... in the shop...on my Jeep.... with my phone and laptop at hand in case needed. Anywho, got the front together minus torquing all the arms and bars.... doing that after bath time this evening, test drive planned...
Will do, managed to get back to the shop after the kids went to bed for a bit and got the front end mostly disassembled. Going to try to get it finished tomorrow evening and tighten the rear, planning on getting it on the lift on Tuesday to see if everything is going to play well together.
I left my rear control arms and track bar loose for that reason, didn’t get a whole lot done today being as the wife wants to paint ceilings and the kiddos wanted to build a snow man in the little bit of snow we had left. Managed to get wheels on it and back on the ground with rear brake lines...
I’ll complete the install and see how it goes. Yes limiting straps have their place for sure, I’m not saying that, I just think in my particular situation they don’t warrant being used.
Maybe I should just complete my install first then go put it on a lift and see what happens? If they don’t fall out I’m all set, and if they do then I need to fix it mentality?
no track bar yet, I didn’t think that would make much difference when it comes to droop, I understand the sway bar will probably keep it in check during flex, but that won’t help if I belly down on something and the rear axles goes full droop, or if I put it on a lift. All of my control arms are...
So started on my EVO lift today, in my traditional fashion I started with the rear (backwards from everyone else I’m sure). Anyways, after installing the springs I hung the driver side shock and stuck the bolts in the eyes. Then I dropped the jack to check the extended length. Well, the spring...
Just placed my order for the stage 1 plus kit and fox 2.0 shocks 3.5”-4” .... how is the height now that some of you guys and gals have some miles on it? I can’t wait to get mine on, I decided on this over metalcloak... now I’m waiting on funds to get control arms
That was this past weekend, in front of Glenn’s Freedom Dodge Jeep and Ram... took me a bit to figure it out but it was way too familiar to leave it alone
Definitely nota part from either Jeep, as stated that’s a cv joint cage, how it ended up in his driveway is anyone’s guess. But someone knows when that comes apart... there is absolutely no way a cv explosion goes unnoticed... but I am 99.99999999% sure that’s what it is
I ran it without the over rider for a long time, but it always looked so empty since I don’t have a winch yet, I don’t have a trail cam either. However 35x12.5 will chew at it under flex, hence the need for a lift and if I can get all the flex I’ll hack at it with the plasma cutter and clearance it
I have the full width, and 35x12.5 my tires chew on the bumper wings when cornering under flex, bad enough to bend the bottom section of the bumper... I’ll get some pictures when I get home from work... I love the look of it but I’ll definitely need a lift to go 37’s and then maybe some trimming...
New development in the JT, has developed a clicking noise directly behind the steering wheel like the turn signal catch has broken... not sure that is what it is yet, I would pull it apart and find/fix it but since the silly thing has a warranty it will be going to a dealer... not the previous...
No it’s a gasser. I never put anymore thought into it, it wasn’t enough money for me to worry about it. But I don’t take it to that dealer for oil changes now.
I just got my over-rider bar in for my RR and I’ve been eyeballing the badlands winch for mine based strictly on price, have you used it yet? @darksidedesign
