I have two of the Mojave steel wheels in my yard. I changed the spare wheel to a Mojave aluminum wheel and so have 3 more of them (I bought a set of 4). Plus 6 regular aluminum wheels. Good thing I have a big yard, since no one seems to want any of them!
From the photos it looks like you could move the lines to the outside of the plow brackets and mount the line retaining brackets to threaded holes that you make in the plow bracket. Or, maybe you can make short extenders to the existing line brackets to move the lines (?) It seems that the...
My HF 12k winch is an insurance policy. I hope to drive in and out without using it. I checked amp draws at different loads and wraps on the drum and found the 12K to draw less than the HF 9K for example. I figure there is a good chance that I won't have the line spooled all the way out and...
some metric and SAE sizes are very close, and I choose whichever I find first:
8 mm vs. 5/16"
11 mm vs. 7/16"
16 mm vs. 5/8"
19 mm vs. 3/4"
24 mm vs. 15/16"
in some other sizes, one will be somewhat tight or loose, but can be used if the bolt head is worn, or you are turning but not trying to...
Both my Max Tow and Mojave have been relatively quiet on the road, and capable off road. Very little towing--I use my Ram diesel for heavy towing. The max tow is probably better for medium towing, but I feel the little 220 cubic inch engine is a limiting factor for towing at altitude, in...
Mopar offers different height diff brackets for the center shock/damper, so you could fabricate a taller bracket for the Gladiator. I do not have a lift, so am running the factory bracket.
Melling has a good reputation for automotive parts. For example, their high volume oil pumps are popular. If I were installing a new cam on any engine, I would use a film of moly cam lube and then change oil and filter after a 20 minute run-in. I know roller cams aren't supposed to NEED...
I left the other two mufflers/resonators stock. On my 2020 the third, near the rear bumper, was bigger than the one on my 2022. On the 2020 I did not notice a difference in sound, but get a little more "growl" on the 2022 after deleting the front resonator. No drone on either year JT.
I just replaced that resonator with a length of 2.5" exhaust pipe. I got my local muffler shop to make it with the ends expanded to 2.58" ID. Cut off the resonator with a sawzall close to the body of it.
yes, the sides are double walled--you can see that the inside contour is different from the outside of the bed. The front wall is single walled, but the top of it is folded over to make a top rail.
If you are worried about rust, paint the bolts and grease the threads. I use 10.9 or 12.9 bolts whenever I can to replace the relatively weak 8.8 stuff. The 8.8 stuff is not galvanized, it is zinc plated.
