Disappointed in the lack of momentum on this, was hoping to see a new stud on that going into the weekend hah. Between this and the custom LED tail light thread... Better than anything on prime. We're ALL rootin' for you!
Possibly a stretch assumption but this aligns with a call I made last week to my local dealer asking if I’d need to restore emissions & stock tune before the work. After a bit of a hold, I was told I wouldn’t need to do anything at all, that I’d be able to bring it in as-is once ready.
How private are these memos? Generally speaking, is this highly sensitive? I can’t imagine it being more than a week before we have some concrete data to go on. When you say a Mopar crate motor, assuming long block, do you recall anything PCM update related or just the note on the new pump hardware?
I bet it is my lack of a mount, especially if folks are getting a few years out of their cords wow. It does jangle around a bit, even when in the center console.
Hey folks, the one rub I have with the factory setup is the need to be plugged in for carplay to function but even so, after a few months I need to replace my cords. I keep my port clean, OCD levels clean with an IPA dipped toothpick to pluck out any fuzz-balls etc. The latest was an overpriced...
Hey one thing I noticed you mentioned is wanting something for winter commuting. The first few years of our EcoD glady ownership was while we were in the Pocono mountains. I've always driven my jeeps through winter but I'm also an avid fan of running dedicated snows. I have a set for my glady...
I don’t know, perhaps. I mean, it isn’t like we’re talking Takata who hit a $3b cap in their hayday before being crushed by the airbag debacle. Bosch is so diversified, ubiquitous and monstrous. Heck even all of Stellantis, the 3rd largest automotive manufacturer is a mere fraction of Bosch’s size.
Curious on the assumption that if Bosch foots the bill, they’d go bankrupt. What is the reasoning?
New HPFP is well under $1k in parts if preventive, but let’s call it $1k. Let’s be generous and allocate 10 hours for the fix @ $150/hour. At $2,500 per unit, they are still under $120m on the...
2 little ones (also in KY) and 50k miles worth of trips out west and further south, RTT, redundant power, pop-up stall, water etc. as well. I’d say if your goal is soaking in the scenery with a total of 5 folks, rent a 3 row SUV and bring the ground tent you still likely have. First trips to...
Not sure if you have an end game in mind but if you itemize out the journey while factoring in loss at resale time, you may end up spending closely the same if you consider a high mile sport (mid 20s) or high mile rubi (low 30s) to start as a doner for a 5.7 or swap. Run the snot out of the...
Something seems off. In order for the owner to be plugged so deep into the gen 3 EcoD lore to the extent that they claim 4k filter changes, why on earth wouldn’t they have run an additive at some point? It’s the lowest hanging apple and very first thing one stumbles upon when learning how to...
Good stuff, many of us have a tuning and general mod background. I was dead set on the 3.6, diving all the way down to picking up a cheap reman (3.6 short block is dirt cheap) to build it from the bottom up while keeping mine running until the swap. I had all this planned before I bought my...
Do it before the mod bug bites too hard on the Mojave! As Hootbro said, nobody should give you any crap for letting go of the Mojave for a 392. I really miss hipo cars, badly. It's much easier to leverage the advantages of something like a Challenger vs. a Gladiator on a whim.
Yeah with a front receiver I’d do exactly as you’ve described only lay down cardboard up front and at the ramp/lip. I run synthetic as well and while they are prone to fray, I’ve lugged my truck while the line rubbed against oak bark, no issues. I wrapped it around a shed and dragged it to...
This echos a report on the 4xe forum where a member had to bring his 4xe in for an electrical issue and was provided the standard 2.0 as a loaner. After driving the 2.0, he suspected better highway MPG on the 2.0 vs his 4xe. He sold it and now has a 392. A follow-up poster confirmed better MPG...
@californiajeeping I recall in another thread they were silent over email, I called and spoke to a guy named Adam who seemed pretty plugged into the whole situation. My only concern would be ensuring the timing was dialed in during install.
He mentioned that as long as the gear teeth are marked...
