I always added the same height spare just a little narrow. This gives you the height if needed to run but not so much hanging down when stored and less expensive.

It's also an option. Pricey for sure. I really like the Rugged Ridge stubby look. It's a little heavier and unfortunately open on top for winch. If I can find something close to that without the winch provisions I would be happy. I would like to stay away from something too heavy to reduce...

Exactly! That's why so many had issues getting the steering box TSB completed.

After seeing the crap it catches I'm glad that junk isn't getting sent into the intake. Yeah it's most likely harmless but still. I'm sure at least we're not causing any harm by not letting the motor ingest this oily water crud.

How much ground clearance loss with those? Looks like you need additional ground clearance. Possible lift & tires. If your scrapping your obviously off-roading so are you planning any mods?
