This nitrogen fill nonsense will never die. Nitrogen is no better than air.
The reason a nitrogen fill is preferred by some is that because its industrial gas there is zero humidity in it.
It's the lack of humidity that reduces pressure increase.
If you had air from a scuba tank it would be...
I put a set of Nokian Hakapalita (sp?) LT3s - unstudded on my truck and am thrilled.
The Falken ATs were excellent, but these are obviously much better. I wouldn't drive in the snow on MTs honestly.
We had some cold temps then a warm up then wet snow. The snow that hit the road turned to ice...
Unfortunately it seems that dealers have no actual ability to test shocks.
They will look for a leak, not find one, test drive it and then put "Could Not Duplicate" on the RO.
To the OP.
I have one of these that I'd let go pretty cheap. I bought it for my wife who is 5'1" tall and she laughed at me, "no way I'm using a step".
Ha. So if you have an interest PM me. Brand new, uninstalled.
I know you said let's forgo the love hate for ACC.
But my hate is just for THIS IMPLEMENTATION of ACC.
I loved it in my last car. I love it in my wife's Volvo.
I hate it in my Jeep. It's crude and is not programed to be smooth. It's like it is constantly trying to achieve the perfect...
I actually agree with both sides.
For many people this would be reckless. But for many more, they would take things slow, leave extra following distance and stay in the right lane. It could be done safely, though with greatly reduced margins.
I've had a ton in a half ton pickup. If you...
Re temp change, I don't know off the top of my head. The charts don't go any colder than 32 deg.
But let's play wit that 5 mph headwind.
What we're talking about is the difference in aerodynamic drag caused by the head wind.
If we assume 70 mph driving speed and a 5 mph head wind, then...
Air is thicker when it's cold. Much thicker.
In NH in the winter I get 15ish these days. In the summer, I get 18ish.
Because the air is thicker it takes more power for the engine to push your truck at a given speed. At highway speeds, aerodynamic drag makes up the majority of the drag on the...
Yes, if you feel resistance, turn it in a half turn, then back out a quarter turn, then back in a half turn, then out a bit.
You get my point. Work it in and out and use some basic oil and you will be fine. I'd suggest something thicker than WD40. Motor oil will work great. If you dont'...
That' a great point.
I of course glazed right past the part where the OP said:
2022 Gladiator Willys. 3.5" lift, 5:13 gears, F&R ARB's
So it's not his first rodeo. He knows what it feels like when the tires start to hop.
If you push it, the tires should slip. It won't hurt the truck, but it should not stop you. Even on pavement. Especially in 4L, the engine should be able to push through the binding and force the tires to slip.
If it was actually binding, then you had excellent traction and didn't even...
I've got a set of XR wheels on my truck. I think they look great.
I paid $3000 for 5 wheels/tires/tpms sensors. They had 900 miles on them (0 miles on the spare)
(spare wheel/tire/tpms sensor are for sale in the classifieds)
Back when I was a kid sweeping up a Saab repair and machine shop, the mechanics used to put waste oil into a pneumatic sprayer and spray it on the underside of their cars a couple of times per winter to prevent rust.
The rest went into our waste oil furnace.
I'm in a similar situation.
I just replaced a 25 year old blower with a 2 year old Toro that I stole. Not really. It didn't run. I was 99% sure the carb needed to be cleaned. So I scooped it up for $350.
I drained and replaced the gas, cleaned the carb, and replaced the spark plug and it...
Anyone who gives you hard and fast answers either isn't thinking it through or has very little towing experience.
The correct answer is that it depends.
Are you highly experienced pulling a trailer and towing it 20 miles from your home to a beach camp site where it will remain all year??
If...
I thought the same thing. My guess is corrosion.
My other question is that if you've put a cable in as a back up opener, why not just use a cable as a locker also and eliminate the power setup. Then you end up with what most cars have, an interior manual hood release. Simple and reliable.
