Correct me if I’m wrong, but I think there is a school of thought that believes that Euro oils (and most 0w-40s have the moniker of Euro spec) can damage our American catalytic converters. If I switch to 0W-40 at a later time, Pennzoil Ultra platinum SRT approved 0w-40 would be my first choice.
A coworker gifted me this Amsoil 0w-30. He sold the car that this oil was destined for. I’ve got about 44,000 miles with all dealership oil, except the current oil is Pennzoil Ultra Platinum 0w-20. Prior to the current oil (Pennzoil) I did a Blackstone Lab with great results. I like the fact...
I’m staging my supplies for a lower oil pan replacement. Probably will do it this fall. The old cross threaded bolt seems to be sealing ok thanks to the generous rubber washer Mopar uses. On the new OEM female drain threads, it looks like copper.
Personally to keep it enjoyable as a daily driver, I would not recommend over a 285/70R17 or 33” with the stock 3.73 gearing. Going taller and heavier will kill your acceleration and fuel economy. My Sport S is quite enjoyable as a daily driver with 265/70R17.
I upgraded my Sport S from 245/75R17 to 265/70R17. I really was leaning toward the 255/75R17, but it is such a rare size and special order in most shops if I needed replacement on a road trip. The 265/70R17 is a very common OEM size with many manufacturers to choose from.
A great tool to...
Thanks for the input guys. I plan to change the oil pan and use ThreeBond RTV per Mopar this fall. I think I can put down a good bead, but I’m sure the factory bead was put down by a robot.
Most YouTubers put the RTV in the oil pan valleys and around the holes. Here’s a Chrysler illustration that shows the RTV on the inside of the oil pan valleys which make more sense to me. I know not our 3.6 but similar.

Ha, that’s the first thing I thought to do. But my taps only went up to 12MM. Well at least the bottom pans are fairly cheap. If dealer does not take ownership, I might just do it myself. Trying to find the specs and cross bolt pattern might for the pan might be a pain.
2022 Sport S, I’m the original owner with 44,000ish miles. Up to today, the dealership has been doing oil changes with no issues. I started today to change the oil myself. I need a wrench until the last thread to remove the oil drain bolt. Upon inspection, the bolt appears to have been...
Hope this helps

Not sticky. Like a low gloss like a leather/plastic dressing I say. German car enthusiasts swear by this stuff to stop wind noise caused by seals. I believe that it chemically makes the seals slightly softer and this will mechanically add to the surface area when the door seal meets the body...
Bought my new 2022 in 2022. Last year, I noticed that after a rain, the carpet would be wet under the dry floor mat on the driver’s side. Putting in a new door seal stopped the water. Last year, my passenger side started to do the same thing. Well, I thought, I’ll just get a new seal and that...
Coming from two Tacomas that I kept over 10 years each, I was ready to move in a new 4Runner in 2022. Sadly the 4Runner is built on the Hilux chassis not the Tacoma and does not have the leg and headroom of the Tacos. Such a great vehicle but I could not get over the cramp felling with my 6’1”...
Im also interested in updating to the Bilstein 5100 shocks too. I assume you either have the Sport or the Sport S without a lift like mine. Just a quick question that would be helpful to me. I would think that just swapping shock absorbers and not springs would render no height gain, which is...
I also upgraded my 245/75/17 for the very common and readily available 265/70/17. This is the tire size that Jeep should have put on the Sport and Sport S trim levels. The diameter is slightly increased also the width is increased noticeably. I went with the updated version of the cult classic...
