  1. Recall: 1M+ Jeep Wrangler and Gladiator Fire Risk (June 9, 2026)

With my '22 under the recall, I'm wondering if this is what caused my loss of power assist a couple years ago. I had experienced it briefly within the first 6 months and then several times on a single trip (at interstate speeds) 2 years ago along with some 12v system error codes. The dealer...
  2. Another One Bites The Dust - Tick Of Death

Which reman are you going with? What was changed to make it better? Just curious, I've enjoyed past performance remans in the 4.0s.
  3. 2026 Easter Jeep Safari Concepts Officially Revealed

My first Jeep was also an '88 Loredo with the 4.0. It had >350K miles on original powertrain when I foolishly got rid of it.
  4. Any suggested mods to reduce wandering and “constant correction” on stock ’25 Rubicon?

I'll second this one. Initially I added cheap airbags to the rear and it cleaned up the steering wobble a lot, totally different experience. Later on I did stiffer coils and better dampened shocks without the airbags and the steering was still true. Also improved handling under strong/emergency...
  5. Uhhh...Acela Trucks just launched a 2-door Jeep Comanche on a Gladiator!!

Acela as a company does sell their Monterra to private buyers, I've talked to them when they've showed off the Monterra reman around Bozeman. They do marketing at overlanding shows and will sell direct, they just don't bother with consumer marketing online. I doubt the new Monterra II or JT will...
  6. Uhhh...Acela Trucks just launched a 2-door Jeep Comanche on a Gladiator!!

Acela does crazy builds of HD military trucks here in Bozeman, super spendy but I've crawled around on some of their builds and there's a lot of attention to detail. Hard to tell if they're remans or not when Acela is done. Curious what they are doing to the JT platform to get certified at a...
  7. Just wanted to say "thanks!" to everybody here as I see myself out...

    C'mon, you can't mention a CJ-7 and not provide pictures! :)
  8. Snorkel

Here's my AEV snorkel clearance for reference (JTR):
  9. OVRLND Camper roll call

I went with Dobinson 2" coils (1" if Rubicon/Mojave), with the heavier up front and mid-weight out back, along with 0-1.5" Falcon SP2 2.1 shocks a few years ago. Very happy with the ride on and off road. With the springs I needed adjustable trackbars to center the axles and prevent coil rub when...
  10. Easy JT mods

Winches are my favorite simple mod on my Wranger/Gladiator, because they are so flippin simple on these front bumpers vs other platforms. Also, the dead pedal.
  11. Easy JT mods

I used Voile/Titan straps on some regular molle panels and they've worked really well. I don't see why they wouldn't be a simple solution for the back of the seat molle. I also just started replacing my standard extinguishers with Element Extinguishers which are much more compact and...
  12. OVRLND Camper roll call

I found one on Amazon that I use for the back, you can order to size and it has the magnetic opening, I've been very happy with the results.
  13. Windshield - Only lasted 2 1/2 Months

Fitting meme in Montana. In the larger towns it's largely sand, but honest to god I see pea gravel out in the county being used.
  14. ATs Tested on Snow and Ice

I got my Baja Boss ATs out a couple weeks ago on thick ice with off-and-on cream cheese snow and they did really well with my F-350. Test hard stops were surprisingly short. Front end didn't slide out on sharp corners with the heavy nose. Been getting them in mud this week and they're even more...
  15. Anderson Plug / Connector in bed.

Any 12v DC power needs, especially charging portable power stations or a distribution block for other camping accessories, some power managers take them. Some camper setups will take a large Anderson. I would just make sure the wiring is fused near the power source under the hood.
  16. Anyone Using 5W-30 Oil? Tell Me your Opinion/Thoughts

Definitely agree with brand change possibly having a bigger effect, I should've included that. If I see a particulate uptick with the next 0w-20 (Penzoil Platinum) then testing a 0w-20 Napa (brand used for 5w-30) next would be an interesting data point. After seeing that Napa was matching...
  17. Anyone Using 5W-30 Oil? Tell Me your Opinion/Thoughts

Yes and no opinion yet ;) I had the rocker/lifter replacement, tested the first "fresh and full mileage" oil change with 0w-20 and had higher than average particulates, but not in a bad amount yet. Did 5w-30 over the summer months, tested and particulates had dropped a significant amount to...
  18. ATs Tested on Snow and Ice

Definitely agree, ATs have really improved, the silicon based compounds really makes a difference. I've really been impressed with the Grabber ATx, I've ran them year-round and currently as 35s with studs and additional siping. Dedicated snows are awesome but we get a lot of whipsaw weather in...
  19. ATs Tested on Snow and Ice

That time or past that time to think about snow traction. I already pulled the trigger on some MT Baja AT for my non-JT truck, wanted a year-round Montana tire that could handle snow and mud season. I run the gammut of tires in the winter on our vehicles, dedicated studded winters, non-studded...
  20. Best A/T Tires

I've really been impressed with the stock Falken AT3w that came on the Rubicon, we have a lot of shale where I like to drive and they don't have a scratch. It's been impressive on slick highways too. Pretty smooth wearing at 35ish K miles. Not the lightest or heaviest. The Cooper AT3 XLT or...
